"Jem," the dark haired boy panted, "are you well?"
"Fine" Jem winced shuffling on his gear.
"By the Angel, no you're not! Come on let's get you back to the Institute."
"I can walk, Will, I'm fine!" The boy, Will shook his head and scooped Jem up cradling him against his chest.

Several Iratzes and some bandages later Jem was wrapped up in more blankets than was necessary and sat in Will's arms while being read 'A Tale of Two Cities'. Jem yawned, "boring you, am I?" Will teased, blue eyes shining
"No, no, not-" a yawn cut him off, "not at all," he blinked slowly and burrowed further into Will's arms, "Carry me?" Will chuckled and agreed letting Jem wrap his legs around his waist and arms around his neck.

Once in Jem's room Will tried to place him on the bed but Jem refused to let go causing Will to fall on top of him. He scrambled back.
"That afraid of being in my bed, William?"
"No! I just couldn't live with myself if I hurt you. You're more than just my parabatai James"
"Aww, that's sweet of you William. Now come here before I do something I'll regret!" Jem teased. Will sighed before curling round Jem and draping an arm over his waist and pulling him close.
