Pie is something people enjoy to eat
And when Grandma bakes it, you might hear a beat
After dinner our bodies receive a treat
dessert always tastes so delightfully sweet

Nothing else like a homemade pie
Never to be compared to fast food fries
If you listen hard enough, you might here it loud and clear
The rustle, tap, shuffle, bump in your ear
The sounds of the cook making sick beats
Reminding you of Grandma's good ol treats

But there's a different pie I want to talk about today
You cant smell or taste it from far away
Some may smile but others will cringe
When they think about this horrible mental binge
This one term belongs to a certain shape
No sides or angles, with formulas stacked high on a plate
This shape can be small or really really big
And its is used everywhere, especially with kids
This wonderful kid friendly shape is known as a circle
Coming in different colors, red, blue, even purple
They do start but then never end
They can go and go but never bend

Some important terms to know about pi
circumference, diameter, radii
Radii is short for radius
Which is half of the diameter and half closer to bye
The diameter is the line that cuts the circle in half
R times 2 gives you just that
The reverse is the diameter divided by 2
To give you a small little ol roo
The circumference is the measurement of the outside of this shape
Which uses 3 things to calculate
2 times pi times R you say?
Teacher taught u good, this carries you a long way
There is another way to say C
D times 2 or 2 times D
Because R squared equals D
R plus D can be switched out equally
