Rex and Harvey attended a meeting with Kyle Evans where what little information they had gathered was discussed among the two dozen scientists and other great minds of earth. What information they had came from the alien ship and not direct contact with the aliens. The aliens were from another galaxy and had come to earth to discuss the possibilities of forming a trade arrangement, but no information on what was to be traded had yet been offered. The aliens knew of Atlantis from their past, earth had once been a stop over station where ships traversing the universe would stop to resupply. At that time earth was very young and man barely civilized and Atlantis was the premiere city in the world, but it was an alien city. For a hundred years Atlantis reigned over the world until the various alien races discovered star drive and no longer needed to stop at earth. Atlantis was cloaked and moved out to sea and all records of it erased from mans archives so that it became a legend, it was kept in place in case of an emergency. Over the centuries dozens of ships had to stop there and make repairs and earths progress was monitored by many alien races over the centuries. Now it would be used as a meetingplace for earth and those aliens that chose to make contact.
Questions flew at Kyle Evans like flies to a body and he was overwhelmed and unable to speak over the drone of voices. A shrill whistle brought the crowd to silence and they returned to their seats as Cooper Thompson took to the stage.
''Oh this should be good'' Harvey whispered to Rex as they sat down.
''Ladies and Gentleman I'm here to brief you on exactly what you can't talk about if we ever get these aliens talking'' He said frankly and without emotion and then he railed off a list of everything from genetics to Nuclear power to food processing techniques.
''In other words everything'' Harvey stood up and yelled to the stage.
''Basically yes...clear everything through me first'' Cooper replied.
''Fuck you'' a female voice said from the door and everyone turned to see the brunette who had brought Rex and the others from the plane to the city and with her was Emily and five other teenage girls.
''Thank you'' Emily said to the woman''Dad would have shit if I had yelled that out''
''No problem...I hate that asshole'' she whispered back.
''We''ll talk about whatever we want to'' Emily yelled to the stage.
''And that's on my authority'' Kyle Evans added before Cooper could reply to the teenager.
Cooper glared at the man but knew he could do nothing as Kyle had the Presidents ear and had been put in charge by him directly.
''Fine...but every one else reports to me'' Cooper said with a huff and then he stormed off the stage. Kyle asked Emily to come to the stage and she and her team made their way over to him. He talked quietly with her and the others for a few minutes and then he addressed the crowd and briefed them on the procedures for seeing the aliens. One to four scientists would work with one of the girls who each had a tablet like Emily's loaded with all the information she had gathered. It was the girls job to identify the alien's character and assist the scientists on how to talk to them and get what information they could. Emily gave a quick briefing on some of the more unruly aliens and how to deal with them. There was a nervous silence in the room after she finished and then Kyle called out a group of names who would be the first to go in to the meeting room that day. Each would have two hours before being replaced by other scientists who would first be briefed about what if anything had been learned and what had been asked so questions would not be constantly repeated.
''There a little short'' Harvey said to Rex as they stood to leave the room.
''What do you mean...the girls?'' Rex asked.
