brooks has major trust issues due to things that have happened in the past and as a result of that, he is an extremely closed off person and prefers to keep to himself rather than explaining his issues to people. his childhood was very traumatic and because of that, he has developed severe ptsd, along with awful coping mechanisms for it such as shutting people out, disappearing without warning or even hurting others as he just wants others to feel the pain that he has felt his entire life. he absolutely hates when people pry at him to get him to open up or when people try to force a friendship with him. brooks prefers to bottle up his feelings and keep them to himself rather than talking to someone about how he feels or what his thoughts are. he is very dry when it comes to conversations and takes forever to respond but if he tolerates you in the slightest, he might just make an effort to talk to you.

due to his apathy, which is the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation, or passion, brooks has a very hard time making friends, and keeping friends, since he comes off as uninterested and annoyed. along with his apathy, brooks also has a horrible temper due to having bipolar disorder along with a disorder called IED, also known as intermittent explosive disorder. he is almost always irritated, even by the slightest inconvenience, and anything can set his anger off and cause him to explode and lash out. brooks likes to refer to himself as a ticking time bomb. lastly, he's not going to ask for you to hit him up since he's not the kind of friend that people would want to have, but do as you please.
