— rick's elder brother, stefano, was supposed to marry a girl their mother had fancied but due to the reason stefano became a single father at a very young age, the idea was dropped. of course, the family was ashamed of such an event but being the first child it could be said the family became a bit lenient towards him. or maybe because he was just that kind of person one could not stay mad with for a very long time. besides, the little girl they named becca afterwards, was their own blood and they couldn't just throw her away.

— when rick turned eighteen he was arranged to his father's best friend's daughter, serena. rick and serena are very good friends actually. and even though she is nice and kind and everything a guy would want in a girl, rick knows she is not someone he wants. maybe he got her very easily that's the reason, maybe he wants someone whom he could win over and earn their love and respect. reason could be whatever but the truth is he sure is hellbent on not marrying anyone anytime soon.
