"Alright students, class is dismissed!"
As soon as the end of the day was announced, students were rushing, pushing past each other to be the first out the door. Finally, it was time for summer holiday, and everyone had two weeks off of school, no longer having to deal with piles of work.
Though, one lacked excitement. She stuck out from the class of students, appearing around fifteen. She had pale skin, wore the school's female uniform with a jacket, had shoulder length light blue hair (which was messy due to having her head down sleeping for most of the lesson) which was almost the same color as her eyes, but slightly lighter.
As soon as she rose from her seat, she was stopped. "Ms. Fujiko, may I have a word with you?" Looking at the teacher who sat still at his desk, hands intertwined on his desk. Her expression showed a bit of surprise ─ her eyes widening slightly, before her blank doll-like expression returned to her pale face, before making her way over to the desk.
"Yes, sir?" She spoke in a tone that matched her blank and tired expression, brushing a strand of her messy blue hair out of her face. The teacher looked up at her, before letting out a small sigh and got up from his seat.
"Are you... alright?"
Again, her eyes widened slightly, for some reason surprised by his words that were obviously laced with concern. Her body even tensed up slightly, though not as noticeable. Again, it didn't last for long before she regained her posture, hands together in front of her.
"Perfectly fine, sir." Her tone was calm, though at the same time, it was obvious that she was feeling tired at the moment, which was also shown by how tired her eyes looked. "Why do you ask?"
The teacher faltered for a moment, head looking down at his hand on his desk. "No reason, I just... are you sure, Ms. Fujiko? If there's anything you want to tell me, I'm all ears."
This time, she took longer to respond, as if thinking of what to say. Though, the silence didn't last for too long. Her head that was slightly lowered, lifted up and unexpectedly, a bright, happy smile was spread across her pale face, eyes closed. "I'm positive, sir. I'm perfectly fine."
Now it was the teacher's turn to stop for a moment and think of what to say. His mouth opened, but no words came out and he only closed it, the silencde lasting for a few more seconds. "Okay then, have a nice holiday, Chieko." Giving a nod and nothing else, the blue haired girl turned around and like her classmates, who were now long gone, walked straight out the door. The teacher watched her with an almost sad gaze, before lowering his head and letting out a sigh.
As she walked, the bright smile that was spread across her face started to fade away until it completely disapeared as if it wasn't there in the first place. She looked down the hallwat she was passing out of the corner of her eye, before turning her head in its direction, her eyes widening and breath hitched.
The next second, she found herself on the floor. She let out a pained groan, slowly opening her eyes and lifting her head, immediately making direct eye-contact with dark brown eyes piecing into hers. "I don't get to see you for two whole weeks, so I wanted to give you a proper goodbye." She quickly closed her eyes, and immediately as soon as she did ─ she felt a familiar feeling hit.
Pain.
It lasted for a few minutes, five at most, being kickes repeatedly whilst she tried to block the reoccurring hits, or at least tried to shield the rest of her body by using her arms. She wished that it had only lasted for one or two minutes, not five or six.
