Reborn in a Fantasy World

Chapter Zero

My memory is filled of a bright world with tall buildings and mechanical vehicles. A world of industry and technology. I have no recollection of who I was or where I am now, but it's safe to say that I'm not longer in the world that fills my thoughts.

Right now I seem to be an infant, I'm a boy with dark brown hair and hazel eyes as I've seen through glimpses in windows during dark hours. My days consist mostly of sleeping and eating, and I'm completely reliant on my new family to take care of me. Whenever I need something I release sounds I don't even understand and someone rushes to my side to feed me, change my clothes, or just to comfort me. I have a young looking mother with long, light brown hair and hazel eyes. I also have a father with short rugged black hair, pale blue eyes and stubble whom looks like his job involves physical labor.

I haven't seen what this world looks like outside as I think I'm only a few months old, but we live in a fairly small house built of some combination of stone and wood. Our heat comes from a stone fireplace on the far wall of our large common room which blends openly into the kitchen and seating areas. The furniture and utilities are very basic and our lighting at night is done with the fireplace and candles so I think we must live in medieval times. We have also two bedrooms and what I assume to be a storage room, as I have seen Father bring wood back and forth from there and Mother bring food.

As light floods into my eyes once again I open my mouth and some sort of incoherent wailing is released as I still find myself unable to speak despite forming natural thoughts. Sure enough Mother shortly enters the room and picks me up, whispering soft words to me that I mostly do not yet understand. I have only picked up on our names, it seems I am Tai, mother is Maria and father is Klint. As I'm rocked back and forth in mother's arms I begin to feel drowsy again and I feel myself drifting back to sleep.
