He just laughed, running his hand behind my ear and grabbing roughly at my loose hair. I grunted, but no more than that. "I want you to obey me. Become one of my men. You have a good head, and from what I hear, are quite intelligent. I will conquer the universe and I want your help in making it possible."
I rolled my eyes, my fingers finding their way to his wrist and gripping onto it as tight as I dared. "In your dreams. Believe it or not, this isn't my first time dealing with people like you. jegh'a' 'oHbe' DuH jIHvaD." He was not happy with this but walked out of my room without to much of a fuss. Muttering something about always getting what he wants.
It wasn't until about an hour later that I learned of the consequences to my actions. "Scotty? This is the Bridge." I looked up, My com system was turned on one way, and Scotty's voice came through calling out for Kirk. Just what was going on? "What's going on down there?"
I stood and walked to my wall. "He's not able to answer you at the moment, Captain. Your ship is mine. I have shut off the life support system to your Bridge and one extra room... jammed up your exit routes. I am willing to negotiate." I leaned on the wall, if I knew the captain as well as I thought I did, he would start flooding all decks with a neural gas. Yet if this guy was worth his salt, he would have known this play. There was total silence as I waited to see what was happening. "Your air should be getting quite thin by now. Do you surrender the Bridge?" That was an obvious no. "Academic, Captain. Refuse and every person on the Bridge and little (Y/n) will suffocate." I raised a brow.
I rubbed my chin slightly. "Well played, but that won't be enough to help you Khan. The Captain doesn't accept threats lightly." The hours seemed to tick by slowly, the air in my room growing stale. Yet I found a way to keep my head level. I choose to slow my breathing, almost like a meditation. I could only imagine how the Captain was holding up. Even I found it hard to breathe in this situation.
I would endure it, for as long as my body would allow. When I did pass out I was having enough trouble trying to keep my eyes open that I found it pointless to fight it. So when I woke in a chamber I really shouldn't have been all that surprised. What did surprise me was who was in the chamber with me. "(Y/n)? Are you alright?"
I nodded, moving to sit up against the chamber wall. "For the moment. You seem to be doing well for having suffocated on the bridge." He gave a dry chuckle before leaning against a wall himself. The one most opposite of me. I think we both knew it was only a matter of time. The air slowly being vacuumed out of the chamber. "Sir... if I might say while I have the chance. It has been an honor working with you."
He sniffed with a heavy nod. Patting my shoulder lightly. "I have to agree with you there. But we're not dead yet. We'll.. Make it.... somehow." He pulled me to the back with him, if I had to guess trying to keep me warm. The air was getting thin and cold. I let my eyes drift shut, trying to conserve my own body's oxygen. Wondering when I could get back to my lab. I felt his head lull to the side, pressing against me. It felt like ages before the chamber became pressurized once again.
Someone else had opened it from the outside. The Captain roused first, crawling out ahead of me. "Captain, I saved your life. Now please don't kill him." I started my own crawl out of the chamber, his rough hands pulling me out and onto my feet. A phaser in one of his hands. When the door opened He quickly pushed me back to the chamber the woman who saved him following him to the corner. Spock was the first to pass.
Followed by one of whom I would think were Khan's men. The two men quickly took him out. "I'm surprised to see the two of you, Captain, though pleased." Kirk handed over one of the phasers to Spock, I went to the wall and pulled down a few syringes with some novocaine. Enough to knock out a horse.
Kirk spoke after a small gasp of air. "I'm a little pleased myself. Situation?"
I turned back to the two of them, waiting for an order to carry out. "Khan is holding our staff in the briefing room. His men have control of the ship. He also seems quite angry that (Y/n) refused to join him earlier."
I huffed at that. Kirk seemed to understand the situation well enough though. "Our only chance is the intruder control circuit, although he's cut it off at the Bridge."
To this I stepped forward. "If memory serves, Captain, there should be a relay junction down the corridor. We should be able to gas all decks from there."
He looked to me, almost uncertain if he should let me go. "Gas all decks but this one. (Y/n) get your most ferocious plant and wait for my signal." With that they ran out of the room, I followed closely behind before heading off to my lab. I grabbed my biggest one and headed directly to engineering. If I had this Khan figured out, that was where he would go to employ a contingency plan. Meaning blow up the ship. If the Captain was fighting him I would do what I could to keep us from flaring up into the vacuum of space.
Setting my plant down by the door I raced over to the controls. Khan and Kirk were fighting against the chain fence giving me the time to stop the explosion. I made sure to be silent and un-noticeable as I flipped switches quickly. When the Captain was thrown against the other computer something grabbed the back of my collar yanking me back. I choked slightly reaching back to grab his wrist. "I have five times your strength." He pulled me closer and grabbed my wrists letting go of my collar. "You're no match for me."
I pulled my leg back kicking him in the most sensitive area I could manage. Kirk running up behind him and slamming his stomach with a pipe. This was enough to get my hands released, as Kirk continued the attack I moved back to the switches. The red beeping light finally shutting off, I let out a heavy sigh. Looking back Kirk seemed exhausted and was taking deep heavy breaths.
I walked over slowly with my plant in hand. "Are you alright, sir?" He nodded heavily, motioning for me to do whatever I was going to with the plant I had selected. This plant wouldn't do much but it had a tendency to zap one's energy from them. For the time being it seemed the safest bet. When security came to collect the man I left back to my quarters, falling face first onto my bed once I got inside. Turning to my side I rubbed my wrists slightly. The tight hold Khan had on them left a slight mark.
Red handprints from what I could tell, slightly swollen but it wouldn't affect my work. Again a knocking came to my door, I called for them to enter. My back was to whomever had come in, but I waited to see if they would speak first. It... took a few minutes for them to respond. "Ms. (Y/n), if this is a bad time I can always return."
It was just Spock. I turned on my bed just enough for me to roll off of it onto my feet. My fingers running over the thin material of my uniform as I walked into the main area. "No, it's quite alright Commander. Was there something I could do for you?" I watched as his stance shifted slightly. Almost like he was debating on his response.
Still, I waited patiently for hs reply. Whatever it was he was going to ask must have been difficult. "I would like to try a Vulcan mind trick on you. It will allow me to see through your eyes, feel what you feel, know what you know. I wish to understand more about the day you changed." I froze, that.. Was not something I wanted.
I turned my back to him, hearing his footsteps grow closer. "No. I do not want to do that sir. Unless you are giving me a direct order as my superior officer, I would prefer you never spoke of that day again. I only told you about what had occurred because I thought it would satiate your curiosity. To relive that day, is not something I do often. For obvious reasons, it causes my body distress. And with everything that has happened today... "
I stopped, no, bury the feeling. I refuse to feel like I did that day. I refuse to let the fear I felt consume who I am. I am a Science officer aboard the U.S.S Enterprise, under the command of Captain James T. Kirk. I do not have feelings, I lost those a very long time ago. It is my objective to never leave any man, woman, or child behind. "(Y/n), I did not mean to upset you. Merely understand who you are."
At this I turned my head slightly. "I understand that, Commander. You need to understand what you are asking is out of line. Just.. don't bring it up again and I will forgive this incident, and leave me with it. If you will excuse me, I have a busy day tomorrow and really should get a sufficient amount of rest. I'm positive you know the way out." With that said I walked away back to where I usually slept. Once my door closed I slid down the wall. No more, I don't want to remember that day anymore.
