Fritz! Is that your real name?-Noah

'Tomorrow is the first day of school. The very first.'

This was the last thing I thought yesterday before I dozed off. And it just so happened to be my first riveting thought today! With a jolt I majestically jumped  from the bed and was ready for the day. Well ready Emotionally...physically? No, not even close. I landed wrong and dropped to my knees.

I'm Fritz Mernan. I'm 14, not much to me, but I do a lot of fun stuff, for instance I'm a huge science nerd. I partially get that from my parents though who are also science nerds. I also love sketching. I'm 5'4 feet, so that rounds to super tall. Still I'm thin like a stick. Ahh, let's see. I'm a boy. I have gray eyes, like I'm a son of Athena. My favorite war goddess. I'm about to go to school. That may not seem very important to you, but to me? It's amazing. I've never gone to a public school before so I don't really know what to expect.

I grabbed some clothes out of my closet, which was a short sleeved shirt that was yellow and had tiny blue stripes running through it. Then I had my jeans which were blue and the knee area had a square with dots on the top and bottom. I know it sounds corny, but you haven't seen it.

I practically skipped to the bathroom and looked at my it's-morning-and-I'm-tired reflection. I have very light brown hair which is styled as a 'High Bald Fade with Cropped Fringe' (don't know what that means? Me neither, had to look it up.) I have a square-like face, I don't completely look like 'Steve' from Mine-craft. But it's similar enough that I can make the comparison to my favorite video game.

After I was done I went downstairs to the kitchen. The kitchen was pretty small but our pantry is huge. Our house is one of those old style homes, the ones with logs and a ton of different colored wood. However over the years we have gotten new appliances that are shiny and new, so our house is kinda mixed. It reminds me of my own family, My dad is very new and modern while my mom loves the woods and outdoors. I'm not sure where I fit into this equation though. My mom was next to the shiny stove cooking eggs.

"Fritz! Where's your uniform?" she said sounding upset, but looking happy.

"Huh?" I said sitting down at the counter.

"Did you forget the uniform policy at your new school?" she said giggling. Mom if you're gonna trick me you got to have a poker face. And a better lie.

"Ha ha Mom. better luck next time." I sighed. She pointed her index finger at me.

"Well no eggs for you then." she put on a smirk and hummed to herself.

"Aw mom. You're going to let me starve?" I teased.

She laughed and put some eggs on my plate. A little into eating she asked me a question.

"You Excited?" she said as if she didn't already know. You see for the past few weeks I have counted down the days and was not afraid to keep quiet about it.

"No, not at all!" I said dramatically banging onto the back of the chair in fake misery, and my mom exploded with laughter. "Ugh why are you making me go to this school! Ugh." I've been home schooled my entire life by my mom, so starting 8th grade in a new school is going to be crazy. I've never complained about home school.  I was a good student and my mom is a great teacher, and I mean great, But we live a bit far from other people in the town, so I don't know many kids my age.

So when my mom decided to finish her teaching degree, I encouraged her. Now she's starting, and it's going to be awesome. Mega awesome. Ultimately and utterly awesome...hopefully.
