"Bye Mother" I say gripping on to her and trying not to cry even though I'm only 5 because heros don't cry.
"Good bye Angel. Remember to be strong and do all you can to help them bring out your inner strength so you can become the Angel you were born to be." My mother says tears flowing down her face.
"Dont worry mother I'll remember I'll be the strongest there is. And I'll be the hero Hydra needs" I beamed my mother turns a way for a moment then faces me smiling and gives me one last kiss before I get into the black car with the Hydra agent here to pick me up for the enhancement trials.
---24 hours later at a secret Hydra base--
"Hello and welcome to your new home. Many of you here are volunteers" the scientist in a lab coat smiled a some of us and glared at others.
'Weird. aren't we all volunteers? Hydra is the good guys.'
"I want all of you to know that we must have exact obedience here. Disobedience is severely punished. Also the trials each of you will go through will not be easy. But if you dont give up and fight through the pain. You will live. That is all. Guards escorted them all back to their rooms."
My room wasn't as nice as the one at my moms base, honestly it looked more like a cell. But I guess that was probably for if we had bad reactions or breaks from reality when the tests started.
I shrugged and layed down on the stiff cot and fell asleep.
The next morning I'm awoken by someone banging a metal pipe on the bars. Yelling, "5 minutes be ready."
I jumped up and quickly changed into the clothes that they left in the corner, baggy grey shirt and matching grey loose fitting pants. Then I stood at attention in the middle of my room, ready for the first day.
Guards came and took us one by one and finally it was my turn. He opened the door and told me to fallow, i did nervous and excited butterfly's in my belly.
The gard led me into a room, "sit" he said festering to a cold hard metal table. I jumped up onto it with a smile on my face.
---2 weeks Latter---
It was getting harder and harder to smile. My body has never hurt so much before. Everything was on fire and it felt like my bones were melting.
"Angel" my gaurd said.
"Yes Jeff?" I asked him
Jeff smirked, "when are you going to stop calling me that? I told you it isn't my name."
I shrugged, "If you dont like it you could always tell me your name or give me a fake one I can call you." I said with no emotion
"Whatever" Jeff rolled his eyes, "The doc is waiting for you."
"Oh" I sigh, standing on my wobbly legs and fallowing Jeff down the hallway.
"Hello again Angle. Welcome back" doc said as I entered the lab. "We will start with the x-rays. See how far along those wings are developed. Then well see if we can't get you a more useful power. I've had some new serums made up for you today." He grinned
"Yes sir. Thank you sir." I said respectfully.
