The Unofficial Strawhat

Prologue

    A twenty-two-year-old woman, with dark brown hair, two side braids in a ponytail, and blue eyes wearing a simple halter top, a blue jean jacket, some dark blue gloves, light blue jeans, two twin katanas on her hips, with dark blue low-heeled boots, has been sailing for about two months and is starting to run low on supplies. The sailor woman spots an island with something sticking out of it then makes her way towards it. Once she arrives at the port, she secures her boat to the dock before picking up her pack and making her way through the town to ask about an inn. On her way through the marketplace, she asks people if they have seen someone she knows, then hears a boy's voice saying, "We're here! The naval base city!" She turns around to see a black short haired skinny boy with a red vest, some blue shorts with a fur trim at the bottom, a pair of sandals, a scar under his left eye, and a straw hat on his head. The young lady is looking at the stalls to see how much her supplies would cost while she eavesdrops on the straw hat boy.

    "Seriously, Luffy!" The boy with pink hair and glasses says in a worried manner. "You're crazy to want him to join you!"

    "So that's the straw hat boy's name, Luffy. Interesting sounds like he wants to be a pirate." The lady calmly thought and sees a bright purple aura around him as the boys continued.

    "I still haven't decided yet. I just wanna see if he's a good guy..." Luffy states while walking through the marketplace. The woman asks where an inn is, thanks the stall owner, and begins to make her way towards it but decides to follow the two boys to see what they are up to.

    "He's been caught because he's a bad guy!" The smaller boy shouts at Luffy in annoyance which makes the lady roll her eyes and sigh in annoyance.

    "What are you doing?" Luffy is looking straight at the lady with a curious look.

    "Following you." The lady honestly responds as the pink haired boy looks at the two with worry.

    "Ok, what's your name?" Luffy asks while grabbing a pear.

    "Meri Valta."

    "Me... Ri... Val... Va... ta..." Luffy's face turns red at trying to say her full name.

    Valta giggles at his attempt and says, "Just 'Valta' is fine."

    "Val... ta, ok." The straw hat boy takes a bite from the pear and gleefully says, "Mm! Yum!" He tosses a coin to the stall owner while asking her, "Do you know if that Zoro guy is around?" At his question, the people around them jump away from the group and look at them in shock.

    "It would seem the name 'Zoro' is taboo here..." The pink-haired boy whispers to the two. Luffy and Valta look at each other and shrug their shoulders then continue walking towards the base.

    "Well, let's check out the base anyway."

    "Why do you want to see Zoro anyway?" Valta asks wanting to verify her suspicions.

    "I want to be King of the Pirates and I want a swordsman on my crew." Luffy smiles at her while she widens her eyes in surprise.

    The swordswoman expected him to want a pirate crew, but she didn't expect him wanting to be King of the Pirates. "Wow, that's a real tall order. I'd like to find someone. So, until I find him, would you mind if tagalong?"

    "I don't mind. Coby, you want to be a marine, right? You could ask them to let you join."

    "Well, of course I do, Luffy, but I really don't think I'm ready just yet. From what I've heard, the man in charge of this place is named Captain Morgan." The people jump away from the group again causing Coby to sweat drop, Valta to raise one eyebrow in confusion and Luffy to burst out laughing.
