And by the looks on the prosecutor's face, Edgeworth's not pleased by my answer.
"There are no flowers present in the vicinity if memory serves me right. And if there are any, they'll be taken care of by certain authorities," he deadpanned.
Of course. Why did I think that he'll slide the matter under the rug...
"..Sorry you have to see me like this," I muttered. "G-give me a few minutes, and I'll be fine in no ti- "
"You clearly aren't fine."
"No, really. I just need some shut eye then- "
"Do you expect me to believe your lies, after you retched out blood and flowers?!" Edgeworth yelled.
My eyes widened like plates, taken aback from Edgeworth's sudden outburst. His eyes-- they're like staring right at my very soul..
He seems surprised at his action as well, averting his gaze almost immediately when he realized what he just said.
Silence reigns once again. The atmosphere around us became awkward and tense.
"..."
"....."
".."
Then finally, the silence broke as Edgeworth was the one who spoke first.
"...What's wrong?" His voice now gentle than the last, and his eyes were back at me.

"What are those 'things' that are causing you stress?"
"Personal problems, work, that kind of stuff."
Edgeworth seemed to freeze for a moment, like he's giving my statement some thought.
"...You're a terrible liar." He murmured. It, in fact, gave me goosebumps. "(Y/N)?"
"Y-yes?"
"Could I say something personal? If you.. don't mind me stating my observations about you."
Edgeworth, observing me? "..Go ahead." I was reluctant at first, but went with the flow anyways. What's he driving at, I wonder..
He took a deep breath, his chest inflating before exhaling through his mouth. He paused for a while before...
.
..
..
"... I know how you felt about him."
My body flinched, then went all stiff almost immediately.
"I was watching you from the jury box at the other side of the courtroom," he murmured. "Your composure... deflated gradually as Iris spoke with Wright in court."
I gritted my teeth when I heard that godforsaken name again.
"Not only that," Edgeworth added.
There's more?!
"I've.. also noticed how you act towards him, even before this trial and his previous ones."
...Wow. Am I...
"......Am I that transparent?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Unfortunately." He answered.
I'm loss for words. Thinking about the times Phoenix and I have been through makes me...
