(For anyone who skips prologue, gotta let you know that you won't understand anything if this is not read. Thank You.)

The sounds of feet being stomped on the ground could be heard from a mile away.

Running away from the creatures who dominated the planet was nearly impossible until you reached the agreed location where the creatures can not hunt.

Once every two years, a group of randomly selected people, two from all villages, would be sent out to be pray for the creatures.

These monsters...were dragons.

It was time for two people of the village to be selected, if they were a single parent of a child under the age of eighteen, they are spared. If they are married and has a child u see the age of eighteen, the man must go. If they are alone and is currently not married, it wouldn't matter the gender...no one shall be spared.

It's the common rule during the year of the pray.

This all started when war broke out during a time of peace. Two humans wondered into a cave of one of the hostile beasts unknowingly. That day war of had soon broke out for the dragon had eaten both of them after burning them alive.

At least, that's what the towns people has been told. It's a story passed down through generations, 200 years later and the tradition still goes on.

"What about my children, please let me take care of them!"

"Mom! I don't want to go!"

"No! I don't want to die!"

"Somebody, take care of my wife and children!"

These are the cries of the people who have the luck of being pray for this year. It was entirely random, yet, the result would always be the same.

The crying

Leaving family behind

And dying

It was an endless cycle people believe would last forever until they go extinct.

Amongst the people, a single mother and her two year old child watched the crowd. The two light brown haired humans stared at the crying people, the mother has been spared yet another year. Thankfully, because of her child that she loved so dearly.

Some women have children and get married to spare their life, it's an advantage that females have. Men could do the same but it was more common for women to be the one left behind.

Men could only be a single father, while women could be married and still be spared if they had a child.

It was an agreement between ancestors and shall last for an eternity till death of man kind.

This was an unforgiving world that lets man kind be punished for the sins the ancestors had left them with. A cruel world that has yet to be explored because dragons and possibly many other dangerous creatures dominate the planet.

Only 67% of the human race was left, how can they survive any longer when the birth rate has dropped so suddenly.

Will there be another agreement between men and dragons?

Or will the humans except their fate and be eaten out of extinction by dragons.

Their fate lays in the hands of a child who has yet to be born....Homori....will save them all...
