Ok quick note, let's just say you had a son. So when you see (S-Name) it means Son's Name.

"You haven't slept in days Taho."

"I'm fine."

"Why won't you sleep?"

"I have to protect (S-Name) and you."

"From what?"

"The yokai." I sighed softly not wanting to wake up (S-Name).

"Isn't that why we have, I dunno, guards?" He stayed silent. I gently laid (S-Name) down to sleep while shifted beside Tahomaru sitting next to him. I gently wrapped my arms around him making him tense for a moment before he put a hand on mine.

"You should be resting, you just gave birth a few hours ago." I nuzzled into his shoulder.

"You should rest too."

"No."

"Tahomaru.-"

"Go sleep." I sighed resting my chin on his shoulder.

"Why are you so scared?" I whispered gently rubbing his arm soothingly. He only stayed silent making me frown.

"Tahomaru, talk to me, please." I begged. He looked down.

"Days before our little prince came into our lives, I realized how lucky I am. I have anything anyone could ask for. A beautiful, loving wife, a handsome little man to hold onto my legacy, thousands of people who look up to me. One little slip-up and I could lose it all. I could lose you, (S-Name)." He whimpered, tears welling in his eyes. I frowned before making him look at me so I could wipe those tears away.

"Sweetheart, everything will be ok. I'm right here, I'm alive and well." I made him look back at (S-Name) who was sleeping peacefully.

"And there's our little prince, alive and well. You won't lose us, I refuse to let that happen. We have so many people willing to be here for us, to help us. So please love, come rest." I begged. He was silent for a moment before wrapping his arms around me.

"Promise you won't leave?" I smiled hugging him back.

"I promise my love." I felt him smile against my neck before he gently picked me up walking me to our futon that laid beside (S-Name)'s basket where he slept. He laid me down before taking his gear off and laying beside me. I smiled as he took me into his arms before covering us with a blanket.

"I love you." He said softly before kissing me gently, I smiled and kissed him back.

"I love you too, Tahomaru." I whispered before nuzzling into his chest. I felt him rub gentle circles on my back making me smile. That along with his arms and night's gentle song soon lulled me to sleep in my husband's arms.
