“M-master? What’s happening?” the young jedi asked, whilst his older master stared in horror from what he saw on the screen “merik…..we need to leave” the older male said, pulling his apprentice by the arm.
“By the order!” the young jedi yelled as he saw the screen, the Jedi temple was caught aflame as the stomping of boots neared the entrance of the restaurant.
“Master!” the young jedi called out, watching the older male gunned down by the very same troopers that they fought with, he ignited his blade as the inside of the establishment was lit with blaster fire.
4 Years later….
Within the halls of the VCX-150, known as “deceit” the now nineteen year old male had sat in his room of the ship, a holoplay of old music he had collected and stole, compiled into playlists had shuffled as he tinkered with an old set of DC-17 hand blasters the tune “Strangers in the wild” played in the background.
“Nice, with a little more adjustment, these’ll work perfectly” merik had sighed, rubbing his eyes as he heard the ship come out of hyperdrive, he smiled and turned off his music, opening the door to the hallway as the ends of his dirty cream and tan colored robes brushed against his ankles, his boots echoing the halls as the door to the cockpit opened, revealing an older female togruta, her purple skin reflecting the planets radiating glow “mmm...whats up reku?” he asked, still tired and yawning as he sat in the co-pilot's seat. “Not much mer…..we’re refueling at a local planet and then we can head back to the inner rim to pick up the rest of the crew” she replied, leaning back in the chair “if you want, go take a nap, its been a few days since you got a full rest” merik had nodded his head, but didn’t reply, his eyes closed and already being lured away by sleep.
‘Damn, he actually looks peaceful when he isn’t fighting for his life’ she thought to herself, taking notice of the features on his face, the bags under his eyes as well as the crust that had been building up “sleep tight, child” she spoke softly, kissing his forehead as she continued to pilot the ship down to the lower atmosphere where the small landing bays were bustling, speeders and people moving through the streets like ants when the familiar screeching of tie fighters were heard over head. As the ship landed she got up and grabbed a light long coat, throwing the hood over her head to try and hide her lekku’s.
Shortly after reku had left to refuel, merik was jolted awake, sweat rolling off of his forehead
Meriks pov
“Sio!” he shouted, letting the memories of his…. Past, get the better of him. he got and went to grab the blasters, holstering them and exiting the ship, curious he activated the commlink mounted to his tech gauntlet “reku, where are you, im off the ship” “im at the refuel depot, ill be back soon” “want me to swing in the town and grab supplies?” “that would be perfect dear, be careful for patrols though” he smiled and chuckled as he walked into the town, ‘he could handle a few troopers if it got bad, right?’
As he entered a local market, he noticed a few stormtroopers hassling a local market owner and had almost reached for the cylindrical handle he kept hidden in the sleeve of his robe, before keeping his head down and walking past the troopers, taking a few of the fruits from the stand that they had ignored before disappearing into the crowd.
