"Whats this for?" Ella asked

"The names without the line through are still alive and the ones with the line are dead" Newt said

Ella just looked at him slowly taking in what he had told her

Newt took out one of his knives Ella jumped back in fright

"don't worry Green bean you're part of the Glade now so you have to carve your name" Newt said with a subtle laugh, Ella smile and took the knife pressing into the wall carving the letters of her name E.LL.A it was as if it came natural for her to link her l's.

Dinner wasn't the usual sitting around a table with your family, The Gladers had a bonfire the cook frypan made mashed potatoes with bacon ETC,

Ella sat away from most of the people

she wast much of a people person

"Greenie" Someone said

he was chubby, had curly hair

"oh hey chuck" Ella said

"Whats wrong?"chuck said

"nothing just adapting is very difficult" Ella said forcing smile

"don't worry Greenie you'll fit in fine" The voice of newt said as he slid down on the spot next to ella

Ella again forced a smile

her hard shell slowly looked as if it was falling apart

"drink this" Newt said handing her metal cup with something in it

Her face scrunched up but she took a sip anyway

"what is it?"Ella asked

"god knows, it Gally's secret recipe"Newt said

"does Gally even know whats in it"Ella asked

"Bloody hell Greenie whats with all the questions"newt said with smile

Ella just looked at him as if he was serious.

"Newt!, whats with scaring the newbie" someone said

"Tommy! meet the new Greenie"Newt said to Tommy

"Hi I'm Thomas but you're welcome to call me Tommy" He said and extended his hand

Ella smiled and shook his hand

"I'm Ella short for Elizabeth"she said.

Sleep it came quick for Ella, she was the only girl in the glade but got along well with most of the people

and she treated chuck as if she was his older sister, Alby showed her that she was to sleep in the hut.

Previously chuck had set up a hammock for her.

She lay in the hammock

staring up at the stick roof

her eyes closed and she dreamt.

(Ella's POV)

"Ella......"

"Ella........Wicked is good"

those words repeated on and on before I shot up falling out of the hammock

I groaned my eyes adjusting to where I was the Stick huts and giant grey walls, it wasn't a dream

I walked out of the hut the sun had barely risen yet it was softly visible

I sat down on the grass near where Alby had hosted the gathering

I brought my legs up to my chest

I didn't remember anything and I so badly wanted to remember

"Greenie you're up early" the sexy morning voice of someone spoke

"couldn't sleep" I said as turned around and saw newt he sat besides me

"Ah that you'll get used to it"Newt said

I smiled and glanced at the maze as the doors opened, to another day of finding a way out

"ah mornin' greenbean" an asian guy said

"Ella" I said extending my hand

" and Im Minho" he said shaking my hand and running off towards the opening of the maze

"I thought no one as allowed to leave"I asked

"There the Runners its their job to map and solve the maze"Newt said

"now its time for work" He added one

"Huh?"

"you're going to trial run all the jobs here in the glade and then the council will decide what job we think your best at"Newt said standing up

and I stood up after and followed him off towards the council hut

I DID SOME SERIOUS READ OVERS AND EDITED SOME PARTS JUST TO GRASP A BASIC DESCRIPTION OF ELLA'S STORY.

A/N: Im so excited for this book

I loved the movie and Im up to the death cure in the books and started crying WHY MUST YOU DO THAT!!

Crystal Reed plays Ella figured she suite her better than Lucy Hale
