"You're taking me to a cliff?" I asked as Aurora pulled her car up on the shoulder of the road and got out. I noticed a few of those guys sitting in a large fallen tree just right outside of the tree line laughing and joking around. Jared caught site of Aurora and ran to her encasing her in a big hug. The way she was with him was so odd. She was never the clingy type, and yet here she was, acting like she hadn't seen him in months. I caught site of Paul who was at the edge of the cliff staring off into the ocean. Being the mischievous person I am, I starting creeping up to him, trying to scare him. I could see the others watching intently. "You know....." he started turning around and smirking. "If you're trying to scare me you are going to have to try way harder. I could hear the first step you took getting out of Auroras car." I crossed my arms trying to pretend I hadn't the slightest idea what he was talking about. "I just wanted to see what the hell it was you were staring at. Thought maybe I'd caught you being a perv and staring at some beach babes" I chuckled at my own joke and the one I recognized as Seth chimes in. However, Paul looked at me as if he was disgusted by what I said. I threw my hands up "Calm down roids, it's just a joke." He rolled his eyes "Common response from someone who doesn't know us........ I don't do steroids Im just like this." He was turned back around. I snorted loudly "I didn't know someone with such big muscles would act like such a puss. Seriously dude lighten up." With that I walked over to the group of guys and Aurora. Seth has his mouth wide open. "No one ever talks to Paul like that." He stammered out in disbelief. I smirked "Well I'm not a pathetic little thing that he can intimidate like he's probably so used to. I bite back." I could see Paul leering at me from a few feet away but I didn't cower under his stare. But deep inside I felt something I didn't usually feel, guilt.
About 1 hour later, after we all had ran out of things to talk about, and after I had been interrogated by the lot of them, Aurora suggested we head down to the beach and build a fire. I got the notion that there wasn't much to do in the god forsaken town. After watching the boys dick around with the fire for about 30 minutes I got bored. "Alright time to go grab so liquid fun." I announced grabbing Auroras keys from her purse. As I started walking back up to the car I heard Aurora call after me "Lai I'm not sure that is such a good idea." I stopped in my tracks, turning to look at her face to tell if she was serious. To my dismay she was. "What happened to you........... Come on Aurora, live a little." She bit her lip looking back to the group of guys, mainly to Jared who stood watching us from beside Paul who was also looking at us with skeptical eyes. I waved my hand in front of her face "Earth to Rora! Come on let's just get a little tipsy, not even drunk this time how about that?" I pleaded proceeding to give her my puppy dog face. She chuckled, shuffling her feet and muttered "alright". I hugged her "that's the Aurora I know! Come on you can keep me company and show me the nearest liquor store."
Paul POV
I watched as Laila and Aurora took off to the car, laughing and shoving each other on the way. "What the fuck?!" I stated aloud to Jared. He shook his head, obviously stressed out about my imprint and her influence on his. "What do you mean Paul? She's your imprint." Jacob stated throwing some more wood into the non-existent fire. Quil shrugged menacingly "hey if they wanna go buy booze and share with me I'm totally on board." Seth high fived Quil, and earned a punch on the arm from big sister who obviously disapproved. "No but seriously Paul, your imprint is h-o-t-t hot and she has a bad side which is totally a turn on." Embry said patting me on the back. I growled in response to let him know to back down. "I can tell she's a bad influence in Aurora. I know she's tour imprint Paul, but she doesn't know it so she doesn't understand the bond and loyalty........ you need to tell her soon." Deep down I knew Jared was right but I wasn't ready yet to tell her. I didn't know how to tell a girl I just met that she's my soul mate and that I was a wolf.
Laila POV
"Ok Embry truth or dare?" I stated aloud slurring my words slightly and pointing at him. He had drank half of a fifth of vodka and was barely drunk. I didn't understand it. He looked at me smirking "Dare". I felt a mischievous plan brewing in my mind. I leant forward, grinning ear to ear. "Well, Embry ...... I dare you to go swimming with me real quick." He took a swig of the vodka, tied on the cap and tossed it to the floor. "No big deal, I can take the co......" "..... in your underwear." Everyone was dead silent, including Embry who looked taken back. "Uhhhhhhh" he stuttered out. I chuckled "awe Embry I didn't realize you were such a puss." He sneered at me and threw off his shirt and jeans and kicked off his sandals. I went to take off my shirt when I felt an arm pull me away from the group abruptly. "What the hell do you think you are doing?!" I exclaimed jerking my arm away from Paul. He looked beyond mad and I didn't understand why. "Are you seriously that much of a child? Getting wasted and taking your clothes off in front of people you just met." I gave him a look that could kill, wondering who in the hell he thought he was to talk to me this way. "Who are you my father?! No you aren't and I barely even know you. Stop being a prude and let me have my fun roids." I turned quickly and stomped away from him. When I got back to the group I tossed off my shirt and my shorts and ran off towards the water, screaming for Embry to join. He followed suit, splashing into the water after me. I splashed him laughing and after a few minutes was shivering cold so I got out. When we got back to the group I noticed Paul had left. Quil tolled his eyes at Embry and Aurora gave me her jacket. Embry didn't even seem phased by the cold water, which sort of annoyed me given it was supposed to be a dare. "Way to go Em, Paul is livid." Jacob tried to whisper to Embry. My heart seemed to ache due to this and I just felt so confused. Why was Paul so mad and why did he care so much?
