Alone

All around, people dressed in black

I know, you're not coming back

Hear someone say, "I'm sorry for your loss"

I turn away, clinging to the cross

You gave me

As if that can save me

From my world, being turned up side down

Try to hide the tears

As my deepest fears

Play out before me

Becoming reality

As your lowered into the ground

I look to the sky

I know, this is not goodbye

It's just a "see you later"

But, just the same

As I look...

At the name, now carved in stone

I can't help but feel...

Alone....

“It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one.”-Lemony Snicket
