The Night Shift

It was my first time on the job at a local theme park. It is just 1km away from my house and only an 8 min. drive from my house to the park. I entered the guard house and looked at the tv's that is connected to security cameras.

10 P.M

*phone rings*

I picked up the phone and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hi! Welcome to the job! Are you Andrew?"

"Yeah it's me."

"How are you?"

"I'm okay."

"So uhmm where am I? Oh! Uhmm just what I said Welcome to the job! I will be calling you from time to time to keep in touch with you and by the way if you're wandering why'd I called is because I want to tell you that the theme park will be closing in a few months because of the "accident" that happened week's ago. So uhmm how long are you going to stay here?"

"Maybe until the closing of the establishment."

"Oh! Great! By the way if the power cuts off if that happens you can turn it back on by going to the back of the guard house. We never got time to fix it but I hope that everything is going to be all right, just stick to your job and by the time you're finished in the shift you didn't even know its daytime. So uhmm Good luck and have a good night."

*call ended*

"If the power goes out that sucks"

And just as I said it the power cuts out.

"Well that sucks!. I have to go out and fix it I guess."

I exited the guard house and proceeded to go to the back. I found a wire disconnected to the breaker.

"Ohh Why would this wire be disconnected? Maybe some animal might have done this."

I connected it to the breaker and the lights are back again. As I go back to the guard house I turned around and saw a silhouette of a human inside one of the building window and it immediately moved away from the window.

"What the hell is that? Maybe
I'm seeing things."

I ignored it and proceeds to enter the guard house. I sat there asking myself what just I saw, I watched one of the tv and saw a man standing at the back of the guard house. I immediately got out from the guard house and asked the man what is he doing here.

"Hey! What are you doing here?"

He did not say a word. So I asked him again.

"Hey! What are you doing here? I'm talking to you!."

*phone rings and stops*

I looked where the noise is coming from and its from the guard house. And as I looked back to the man, he was gone and without hearing footsteps, I shouted out of confusion.

"What the! Hey! Where are you?!"

*phone rings again*

I entered the guard house to answer the phone.

"Hello!"

"Hi! How are you?"

"I'm fine"

"Oh! Okay! I forgot to tell you that something creepy is happening in the park. After the "accident" our last guard said that paranormal activity is happening in the theme park so he quit the job. But I don't believe it! Why would something like that happen to a happy place? Am I right?"

"Yeah, absolutely"

"Oh and by the way your shift ends at 6 A.M okay? Just sit tight at and be alert okay?"

"Yeah, sure"

"Okay! Then good bye!"

*call ended*

After that I slept for a few hours to pass the time but I was awaken by a loud bang on the door.

3 A.M

"What the hell?!"

I woke up immediately and saw a man ran away. I grabbed my flashlight and my taser and followed the man running. He ran to the building that houses the mascots. I entered the building cautiously and turn on my flashlight.

"Hey! Where are you huh!"

I entered a room full of dolls.

*door closes*

"What the?!"

The door suddenly closed and only the light from my flashlight illuminated the dark room. I pointed my flashlight to a stack of dolls. When suddenly a clown doll fell from nowhere. I slowly turned my head and slowly pointed the flashlight to the doll. I was shocked to see it raise its hand and I immediately kicked it out of fear. I ran to the door and forced it to open up. I quickly ran to the guard house and as I was running looked backed and saw that doll closed the entrance door to the building. I locked the door and sat down near the tv's and waited anxiously.

6 A.M

It has been 3 hours and I was still scared about what happened back there. I exited the guard house and entered my car and drove home. I slept and hoped for the best that all of that was just a dream even it isn't.
