"You're so sweet, Elizabeth!" I hear Y/N laugh, hand on the princess' shoulder. Pushing the door open, the sun shines brightly onto my face. The others were outside, having a break from the tavern. Meliodas and Ban were totally drunk, singing songs in slurs. Diane, Merlin and Escanor were having a conversation about things they had done in the past. Gowther was observing from afar, twiddling his glasses, whilst Elizabeth and Y/N were holding their own conversation. I would pinpoint what they were speaking about, but I was too distracted by the way Y/N's smile outdid anyone else's.

I catch Meliodas' attention and he waddles over, shoving beer into my hands. "Hey Kingsy! Been a while since you...-you got a lil' woozy with us, eh'?" He chuckles, making me roll my eyes. I hand him the beer back and grunt, "I'm holding a score, Meliodas. You know how I get when I'm tipsy." Ban laughs obnoxiously, patting me so harshly that I needed my pillow to push him away again. He sighs, "Ah, yes! Who could forget your little, uh - what do you call it? - outburst last time. Lucky Y/N wasn't around!" My cheeks burn as I walk away. Merlin gives me a nod as Escanor waves nicely and Diane does the same. Gowther doesn't bother with anything, with his observation and all.

I find myself sitting beside Gowther though, eating the things Ban had made beforehand. Y/N and Elizabeth are on the nearby table. "Ms Y/N, please keep your voice down! Someone might hear you!" Elizabeth cries, face deep red. Y/N takes her hand off of Elizabeth's shoulder, shaking her head. "I think the Captain already understands, Elizabeth." Her eyes glow from a deep blue back to her original colour. Still as beautiful as ever, I say.

Y/N, the Aries of the Zodiac Knights. They were the rarest and the very first collection of knights to serve King Arthur in his first years, but as time grew on, they were forgotten about until the Commandments came along. Y/N was the first on command, serving under King Arthur as soon as possible. Her power included being able to feel, head and manipulate someone's thoughts, just by the touch of the hand. But she was able to control it. Still, I don't take any chances with her.

"King, hey! Didn't know you were outside yet." Y/N speaks, sitting down beside me as Elizabeth is taking care of Ban and Meliodas. I shoot up, straight spine as she hands me a cup of ale. My hands fly up immediately. "Oh - I'm sorry, I'm not planning on drinking anything tonight. Wanna' stay sober." I explain. Y/N nods her head, smiling perfectly. "I understand. Just thought you needed a break from those guys." She gestures to the captain and his best friend. She grins at them, whilst I grin at her. As she turns her head to me again, I clear my throat, "I-I'm just gonna' get something to feed Oslo. Be right back."

Y/N places her hand on mine, freaking me out a bit. But her eyes aren't deep blue. Thank God. "Oh, it's fine," She tells me, "I fed him 15 minutes ago. No need to worry." I dip my head, running a hand through my hair as I say, "Thanks, Y/N. Means a lot." She lifts her hand off mine before standing up. Y/N claims, "No problem King. I'm just gonna' give this to Ban. He's really pushing himself tonight." With that, she walks off to the table with the most cups and intoxity level. I turn my back, Gowther's gaze on me.

He speaks, "It seems that your heart rate increases around Y/N many times. Are you still wary of her powers, King? She's proven herself to be plenty capable of handling them. I see no reason in thinking against her." I hum back, head in hands as I glance at him, "It's not that, Gowther. I don't expect you to understand at all." The wind whistles in my ear as Gowther tilts his head at me. He doesn't change his expression, tapping his fingers on the table before darting his gaze somewhere else. "Perhaps you're right. I do not understand. Care to elaborate?"

I shake my head before tensing up. I turn around upon feeling a hand on my arm. I was prepared to say 'oh, stop that Y/N', but instead saw Merlin raising a brow at me. Escanor is by her side, carrying both their cups. Merlin huffs, "Seems like your girl is having a good time. What happened to building up the courage to tell her, King?" I lean my head against the wood of the table, rocking back and forth on the chair. I don't even know how she knows. But the Diane speaks up, "Yeah, King! It can't be that hard, Y/N is real laid-back. Even if she doesn't feel the same way, I bet you'll still stay friends." She tried to reassure me, but I can't help but feel a tinge of uncertainty.

2 Hours Later . . .

Lucky guess, I'm still building up the courage.

"I'm heading back to the castle, if you don't mind." Y/N announces, now in her training clothes. I stand up, floating towards her before asking, "Where-Why are you leaving now? What could King Arthur possibly want at this hour?" She chuckles, picking up her Sickle Sword. "Actually, it's what I want. King Arthur allowed me to use his training room in the castle for a bit whilst the other Zodiacs are still healing up." She explains to me, swinging her sword around like it's a technique. My expression drops and before I can pick it back up, Y/N turns around. She sees me and pouts a bit.

"Aw, King. Don't worry, I'll be back before sunrise. Promise." She says. I nod my eye head, laying on my pillow as I chime, "I know. I'm coming to make sure." I open my eyes to see her reaction. Y/N stops on her tracks and hums back to me, "A-Are you sure? I mean, I'm not all that good with my powers yet."

"I can help you."

"Oh, really?" She asks, sparks in her eyes. I can't help but smile a little. I reply, "Of course. Anything for you!" I rub the back of my neck before laughing nervously. She beams back, cheeks light pink as we head off to Camelot. It's a quiet few minutes before I try to break the silence. When I say 'try', I mean try. I would just let out a weird noise or cough whenever Y/N would turn to me to listen. I guess I'm just not the vocal type when it comes to emotions.

Y/N mumbles to me, "Is something the matter, King? You seem pretty... detached at the moment." I shoot my head to her, widening my eyes. She slows her pace and allows her sword to be put back in its case at her hip. She crosses her arms as I say, "I'm just thinking I guess." She nods her head, deciding not to poke at it anymore. I'm thankful. Y/N's reserved as well, only not so much. I drag my hand up and down my arms before sighing, "I don't know how to say this, but I... my secret is that I really-... God, why is this so hard?" Y/N shakes her head slowly at me, still grinning. She claims, "You can tell me anything King. Promise."

As we walk down a low hill, I begin walking on the floor instead of flying beside her. I muster up the courage to take her hand, making Y/N abruptly halt. She sees our joined hands and turns pink again. "King?" She whispers. I gulp, lifting her hand to place on my chest. I tell her, "Use your powers on me."

"King, I couldn't-"

"Please? For me?" I beg. It'll be much easier for her to see it herself instead of just listening to me stumble for the right words. Y/N's eyes reluctantly and slowly turn into the ravishing deep blue colour. I take a deep breath in, watching her facial expression change rapidly. I can't tell whether it's a good or bad thought, since her face is showing furrowed brows and a pout. I hold her hand there, brushing my thumb against her outer palm. It's a nice, smooth, warm feeling.

I hear her gasp and her eyes go back to her normal colours. I let go of her hand, but it remains there. She gently clenches my shirt as her face grows redder. "Y/N I'm sorry, it's just that I don't know-"

Y/N pulls me into a giant hug, arms around my neck as I awkwardly place mine on her back. She huffs out, "Oh King, why didn't you tell me! You know I love you more than anything, right?" My heart beats faster and my face won't stop grinning. I pull away slightly to press a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Thank God, I was thinking that this was a waste of time!" I admit, thumb against her cheek. She giggles, hand slipping into mine, "Definitely not a waste of time, King. You absolute beautiful guy." Before I can comprehend the touch of it, Y/N pushes forward and kisses me sweetly. I close my eyes and kiss back, brushing the hair out of her eyes. I mumble to her, "I'm glad you know how I felt, Y/N. I love you."

Y/N leans her head against my shoulder, swinging our joined hands, "I was actually going to tell you after training, but I love you too King. Always will."
