"Sir, we have to call him!"
"Sir, he is our only option to save him"
"Call Dr Kabir and give me the phone" The doctor caved into the nurse's requests. "I hope he is not drunk with the thoughts of Preeti"
"Drunk suicidal. Drowned in a river. We need you here ASAP" Ordered the doctor over the phone.
"Suicidal? DIE" Kabir replied with a stupor
"He attempted because of a heartbreak"
"He must be saved! He will have answers! Then I will kill him"
"Come fast"
"That's what she said..cominggg" and Kabir cut the call.
The doctor realised the blunder he had made. But, that is probably the only option to save this guy. Then he hears a car crash. "Here he comes. I hope it was not my car he crashed into!"
A few minutes later, Kabir barged in topless, pants and sunglasses, everyone staring at him. "Everyone get the heck out of here, except the nurses." The doctor left hurriedly. "Clearly he didn't drink enough. Should have jumped from a building" Kabir said looking at the patient in front of him, he gets to work.
2 hours later, Kabir came out and eyed the doctor. "He will survive. But, he will feel coming to life worse than death."
Later at night, Kabir went to meet that patient. A vodka bottle, a pack of cigarette, and a small vial containing some liquid.
"Why am I still alive? Why can't you let me die in peace? Why do you have to bring me back to life?" Rahul frantically tried to remove his probes and injections. "You can't move yet. Why did you want to die? Here, have some vodka. Relax"
Rahul started sobbing "It is love. It was love. People say you fall in love. But, it is wrong. You should grow in love. Support and reach your goals and watch your one, your only one achieve them. You are proud. But, I fell in love and she grew. I wanted her to grow and she did! Aarohi is a beautiful singer, I tell you! But.. but, I fell, I failed! Aarohi wanted to leave me and her career so that I could grow up. She loved me, man! She loved me. How could I leave her!"
"And what broke?"
"I broke. The society is broken. I helped a simple girl with a beautiful voice to reach her heights. And I fell in love with her. Why can't society leave me and my private life alone."
"Damn the society, people are mentally jobless and hollow. You have to be thick skinned if you wish to survive. Love does crazy things. Betrayal does even more. It makes you an addict. And a society with its tall ancient rules betrays love and only harbours lust and distrust. Maybe I'll walk on the same path someday."
"I still love Aarohi and I wish to see her succeed in all forms. I can't be thick skinned like you. Tell her I will always love her, now and forever."
"Farewell Rahul."
