Razor's POV

What the hell?! One minute everything is fine and dandy and the next a blood curdling scream fills the air. It wakes everyone in a matter of seconds.

Jai, Cross and I all dash out of our positions to pull free our weapons but no danger is around the room. I frown before realizing that Sadie is still screaming her head off. We all dash over to the side of her bed to see what's wrong. Jai pulls her blanket off in search of new injures but once again nothing.

From the corner of my eye, I see that Cross start to panic slightly. Even I'm starting to panic a little. At the head of the bed, Jai is frantically yelling her name over and over again but there is no response. Jai shakes her shoulders to get her to snap out of whatever trance she's under.

Cross and I begin shouting her name in hopes of her responding but nothing happens. I look at Sadie's eyes and do a double take. What the hell? Are they... No, it's not possible. I shake my head of all thoughts and focus on trying to grab Sadie's attention. Tears run down the side of her face and into the pillow beneath. Her hands have turned white from gripping the mattress so tightly. Her screams still feel the air along with the shouts of her name. I'm surprised that people haven't started to come and complain about all the noise yet.

"Wait guys stop for a second!" I shout over all the noise to grab everyone's attention. Cross and Jai turn to face me with confused gazes. I ignore their stares and take a closer look at Sadie's eyes. Sure enough, they had changed colour. What once was a bright purple, now was a vibrant orange. They shone in the dark light.

I also noticed that her hair had reddened to a fire orange. My eyes travelled to her neck where the Mermaid's Tear lay. It shone orange to match her eyes. Well that's new. Sadie's arms caught my attention next. Vine like patterns ran from her shoulders all the way down her arms and raped around each finger, only ending when they reached the tips of her fingers. The patterns pulsed with an orange light.

I frowned in confusion. What in the world was happening to her? All different kinds of thoughts filled my head at one but only one stood out to me. Didn't Lucian say that the Mermaid's Tear had healing properties? Yes, that's it. The necklace was healing her. Well only one way to find out. With that thought fresh in my mind, I moved my way towards her left foot. Unwinding the bandage was easy.

My eyes widened as I watched all the muscles, tendons and tissue sowing itself back together. No wonder she's screaming so bad. That has to hurt immensely.

Suddenly Sadie's screams stoped and she fell limp. The air became completely silent. In the blink of an eye, the wound sealed with no evidence of there ever being a wound there. Not even a white scar left behind. My hand gently reached out to touch where there once was a bloody wound. My hand touched smooth skin. I was stunned speechless I didn't even notice the shocked gasps from my comrades around me.

I looked up the see that Sadie was now peacefully sleeping, completely oblivious to her surroundings. I looked over my shoulder to find Jai's stunned expression.

"Is.... What... Not.... Impossible... How... Way...." He couldn't seem to form a sentence even if his life depended on it. I looked over to Cross to see an equally stunned face. His mouth was opening and closing like a goldfish. For some odd and weird reason I found it incredibly hilarious and couldn't help but let out a deep rumble of laughter. If filled the unearthly silence that had swept across the room ever since Sadie went mute.

My laughter caught the attention of my comrades and both their heads turned around to look at me so fast that I'm surprised they didn't get whiplash. They glanced at each other in confusion as though they were having a secret convocation along the lines of 'What did we miss?'. Jai finally shrugged before they both turned their gazes towards me.

"Y-your... fac-ces... s-so... f-fun-nny!" I breathed through my laughter. Boy, I haven't laughed this hard in years! The last time I remember laughing this hard was back when..... I pushed all thoughts of the past to the back of my mind and refocused on the present. My comrades both glared at me murderously. If looks could kill, I'd be dead by now.

"You know what else is funny?" Jai asked with an evil glint in his eyes. I shook my head because I still couldn't utter any words. Wow it feels so good to think without the Snake's presence for once.

"This!" He screamed before pulling his fist back and smashing it into my face. All laughter died as I fell to the floor in surprise. I landed with a loud thud before letting out a painful groan. Above me, I heard Cross's deep chuckling. I turned my head and shot him daggers.

"You had it coming." Cross spoke down to me. I let out a grunt before springing to my feet and turning my stare to Jai. He was so going to get it now.

"Oh shit," I heard him mutter. I smirked at him before pouncing at him as though he was my prey. In one quick movement, I had him under my arm, bent over, in a head lock. My free hand was holding his in a fist as I began repeatedly making himself punch his face. Hard.

All you could heard was Cross's deep chuckling and Jai's voice muttering 'ow' or the occasional 'stop it' but I was not letting go.

"What the hell is going on here?" Sadie's voice filled with confusion as she stared out at the scene before her. It must have looked weird seeing as she just woke up. I realised Jai instantly and he fell to the floor in front of my feet. I crossed my arms over my chest and smirked down at him.

"Just teaching Jai a lesson on to never punch me in the face." I replied to her question. Jai's grunt sounded throughout the room as he took his precious time standing to his feet.

"You-you punched him-him in the f-face!" Sadie began laughing uncontrollably. From the corner of my eye, I saw Jai smirking at me. I ignored him as I glared daggers at her. Her eyes were back to normal again along with her hair and arms. Her necklace looked as though it was a normal crystal once again.

I frowned and took in her appearance once again. She looked normal, a little pale but normal. Sadie seemed to sense my gaze on her as she stopped laughing and stared at me. Me intense stare made her squirm.

"What?" She asked. You could see she was becoming incredibly uncomfortable under my gaze. I shook my head to clear my thoughts. She frowned not sure, why I shook my head.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

"Yea I'm fine. Why?"

"You were screaming really loudly about 20 minutes ago." Jai responded before I could. His gaze filled with concern.

"Oh." She replied. Her eyes glazed over as though she was remembering what had happened. I saw her visibly shudder obviously not liking the memory. "I felt a burning pain at the base of my foot and it consumed my whole foot and run up my calf. It hurt like nothing else I've experienced before." She swallowed back tears as she pulled her legs close to her chest. She let out a shaky breath and continued. "I don't know what happened or why my foot hurt so much but it just... did."

"I think I can answer what happened." I spoke up. Her hopeful gaze landed on me. She looked so vulnerable at the moment. "The reason for the burning pain was most likely from your wound sticking itself back together." I nodded towards her once wounded foot. Sadie's eyes widened.

"How is that possible?"

"You remember when Lucian said that the Mermaid's Tear has healing properties?" She nodded vigorously. "Well that's how." She gasped before grabbing her foot and examining it herself. Her mouth hung open in awe. Her hand gently brushed her foot just like I had done.

"Wow." Sadie breathed. She let go of her foot and a toothy smile grew on her face in excitement. "This is so cool!" We all nodded in agreement.

The room fell silent. I looked out the window to see the sun starting to peek over the horizon. I sighed.

"We should head of now before we waste too much daylight." Sighs could be heard around the room as everyone, including myself, began packing everything we'd used away.
