Armageddon's wrath had lives derailed
Every system's crashed and failed
Ignored the impending death from within
Refusing to tread through thick and thin
Stepping on bodies screaming "don't tread on me"
Through what used to be the land o' the free
No wall would stop the firefight
Above our blackened earth and minds.

Dust falls now on where we lie
From the gloomy, ashen sky
The fight that rewrites history
And shrouds our nation in misery
However, whenever, wherever I may roam
Reaching sites where people mourn
Losing our life, our liberty, and cheer
And never shall we hope for heavens so clear.
