A/N
Hey guys, this is my first Sherlock Fan fic, so please be gentle. Just a heads up there will be some trigger warnings ahead- but I'll put a warning at the beginning of the chapter, triggers such as: self harm, depression, PTSD, drug usage, abuse ( sexual and emotional) and suicidal ideation. There will also be a little bit of smut later on ( I am only intending to write one chapter on this, there may be more if I feel it fits) but it won't be the bulk of the story- it'll for the most part loosely follow the BBC Sherlock series story line, with a romance element.
Just a few things about me, I have previously worked in a hospital with sectioned patients, that affected me deeply, and I have found that writing around the subject has given me some closure and a way to work through it( in a weird sort of way). Apologies in advance if I portray these wrong, it just helps me mentally recover, but as I said, there will be trigger warnings above the specific chapters. I have since left working at the hospital and I I am still working in the mental health field. This is also my first bash at writing in a number of years, so bear with me as I may be a little rusty to begin with.
Okay, so onto your character's background:
You're 24 years of age, recently became homeless due to being injured in battle from the front lines of Afghanistan; still suffering from the bullet wound in your right shoulder. You briefly had encounters with John, but none that were specifically memorable, John doesn't remember your face,but has heard your name before.
You have been homeless for around 3/4 months, as you had no place you were willing to stay and no means of paying. You accidentally broke your debit card after sleeping on it one night in your jeans, so despite you having some money in your account, you cannot access it.
Since you began life on the streets you began to snoop around crime scenes as a way of preventing boredom, so tried to mentally piece together how it happened.This is where you stumbled upon Sherlock, you watched him from the shadows and found him very interesting. How he could crack seemingly impossible cases. Where ever a crime scene was, you would usually follow awaiting the genius of the consulting detective. It's one the back of the study in pink case that you have your first encounter with Sherlock and John. This is where your story begins.
