Avelaina felt her eyes slowly closing while distantly hearing her boring creative writing teacher speak in a monotone voice. Don't get her wrong, creative writing was her favorite class, but her teacher, Mr. Hawkins, was something else. You could tell he was passionate about teaching on some days, but others he was just like this;boring and tiring. It was a Monday, so everyone was feeling just like this. She loved to write. She wrote her own poems and even her own stories.

Avelaina felt herself slowly falling asleep when she felt a slight tap on her shoulder. She slowly turned and saw Daniel's dark chocolate eyes looking into hers. Avelaina stared at him for a little when he suddenly spoke.

"Ave?", he whisper-shouted, which caused Avelaina to wake up and pay attention.

"Yes?", she replied, slightly blushing. Daniel has been her crush since the beginning of the school year, and it was now November.

His speaking cut off all her thoughts. "Do you know what you're going to do for your short story?"

She sighs and turns her body to look straight at him, "I honestly don't know. I've been so stressed and have had no motivation to write and it truly sucks. How much time do we have to write it?"

"I think we have until the 30th, so I guess you're going to be doing some extreme procrastinating", he laughs.

"You know it", Ave answers, blushing even more.

Avelaina had a fairly large crush on this Daniel guy. He didn't know, of course, and she decided to keep it that way. They've grown extremely close since they started school. Plus, she had other things to worry about, like her education and her birthday which was in four days.

After a couple more boring classes and lectures, it was finally time to go home. Avelaina was extremely tired. She's been feeling fatigued and has had several headaches. She never told her parents because she didn't want to worry them. She just popped a tylenol or two in, hoping the headache would go away. She thought it wasn't a big deal, but she could've just had minor migraines because she is a junior in high school; which is incredibly stressful.

She started her way home, connecting her AirPods to her phone and into her ears. Her finger went to Apple Music and scrolled down to the playlist named 'my everyday playlist<3'. As 'Why' by Shawn Mendes starts playing, she put her phone back in her butt pocket and continues her way home. Avelaina deals with a lot of anxiety and stress, so music helps her out. It is a big part of her life and she can't live without it. When she first heard of Shawn Mendes, about six years ago, she instantly fell in love with his voice and she still is now. He has so much inspiring music, just like other artists she loves.

"Mom! I'm hoooome!", Avelaina yelled as she entered her house.

"Hey Ave, how was school?", her mother, Lilianne Adler, asked as she walked up to her daughter to pull her in at hug and give her a kiss on the cheek.

"It was good, Mom, but you know it's boring as heck. Is Dad back home from work yet?"

"Not yet, but Aidan suggested pizza for dinner? Should I order some?"

"Pizza on a Monday? Yes, please!", Avelaina quickly responded, as she walked upstairs to her room. Her mother was a great cook, but she works hard, so she's tired most of the time.

Aidan Adler was Avelaina's fourteen year-old brother. He has always been such an annoying pain in the ass and spends most of his time playing video games. As a matter of fact, he was playing right now. Avelaina rolled her eyes as she passed her brother's room and heard him yelling at his teammates. She entered her room and threw her backpack on her bed and went back outside her brother's and walked in.

"Shit! I got killed. Don't just stand there! Freakin' go in and kill him! No!- Wait a second, my dumbass sister just came in the room", Aidan tells the microphone as he takes off his headset. "Now what do you want Avery?" When Aidan gets annoyed, he calls his sister by her middle name, which she dislikes. He turns his head and looks at a pretending-to-be-shocked Avelaina.

"Can't a sister stop by and greet her cute little brother? And what did I deserve to get called Avery?", Avelaina says, pouting.

"Oh shut up sis, now leave so I can continue playing", Aidan rolls his eyes.

"Oh yeah because you obviously need all the practice you can get because you suck ass", Avelaina taunts, laughing. Aidan starts tackling her and climbs on top of her, but forgets Avelaina is older, so Ave quickly flips him over, pinning him onto his bed.

"Weak ass", Avelaina laughs while her brother grunts, trying to get out from under her.

"Averrrry get off of me. I'm going to tell mom", Aidan whined.

            "Oh, you wouldn't."

            "MOM! AVER-"

"Okay okay I'll get off, dang", Ave surrenders as she climbs off of him and the bed and makes her way into her room. She grabbed Camila Cabello's vinyl and placed it on her record player.

She plops down on her bed with a sigh and went under her blankets. As she was falling asleep, her phone dinged. She had gotten a message. She groaned as she reached out to grab her phone and the screen lit up. A smile started forming and her heart started beating quickly as she read the name that excites her.

DANIEL: hey

Avelaina does a sudden flip on her bed and opens snapchat to text her bestfriends, Catalina and Nathalia.

AVE: guys.. daniel texted me awhffokkkgl

CATA: this isn't the first time he texts you ave, don't freak out again

NATHA: answer him! Don't take forever

And with that, Avelaina opens her iMessage and answers her friend with a simple hey.
