"And of no doubt the girl would like a hot and kind guy! Also, he's in the varsity basketball team that's already enough for her to like him!" (Girl 1)

"WE WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN, LET'S CHECK IT OUT!" (Girl 3)

Then the girls ran towards the canteen.

Oh no. I knew this would happen.

I arrived at the canteen.

Jeffery and Kimi's table is isolated. No one sat on the tables near them. Flocks of girls kept walking back and forth, talking about them. Some even took pictures.

I stood near the group of girls walking near me earlier. There were 6 of them.

"Aww, they're so cute!" (Girl 4)

"I may not like Jeffery hanging out with other girls, but I can't help but find them so perfect together!" (Girl 2)

I felt a slight pain in my chest as I heard that.

"There's that guy that hangs out with them right? He's also an honor student." (Girl 5)

"Yeah! I always thought that him and that girl were a good match. I think the girl looks better with him than with Jeffery." (Girl 6)

Thank you! I will remember you.

I looked over to see who said that.

The one who said that was a short girl, with black short hair, and pretty cute I'd say.

"No way! That guy looks nothing like Jeffery! A cool hearthrob and a pretty and smart girl! What more could you ask for?!" (Girl 5)

YOU! I WILL REMEMBER YOU!

YOU HAVE READ TOO MUCH MAINSTREAM ROMANCE BOOKS MA'AM. DON'T YOU GET TIRED OF  SEEING THE COOL GUY-SMART GIRL PAIR?!

I also looked over to see who said that.

It was a tall girl, probably the same height as Jeffery,  has long and wavy hair.

I WILL REMEMBER YOU.

"Shh! Guys, he's literally next to us!" One of them scolded.

I heard some of them squirm in shock and embarassment as they realized that.

I didn't bother to look at them.

"Andrei! There you are! I've been waiting for you! I sent you messages dude, why no respose?" Jeffery called out.

I went to their table.

"Sorry, I was busy." I sat beside Jeffery.

I looked at Kimi, she was focused on looking at the book.

Jeffery looked at both of us, and probably understood the situation.

He pulled out his phone and read something.

"Perfect timing. I just finished studying. Alright, I'll go for now 'cuz our team has another meet up." Jeffery stated.

He stood up, and raised his arm forming a fist in his hand.

"I give you my best wishes, fellow comarade." He said in a deep voice.

"Comarade? You always have your way with ladies dude. That is a quality I don't have!" I hit my fist with his.

He chuckled and left.

And of course, girls were screaming as they followed him.

Though, not all of them left. There's still a decent amount of people that I can still say we're surrounded by people looking at us.

I sighed.

It felt like it was just Kimi and I alone in this place.

"So, can I study with you?" I asked.

Her eyes lit up, still keeping her eyes at the book.

"Y-yeah."

I sat next to her, lookin at what she's reading.

"Hey, I'm sorry for what I said earlier. Would you please forgive me?" I faced Kimi.

"H-hey! That's way too proper. Sigh.. Yes, of course I forgive you. It isn't too big of a deal. What you said just broke my mood and lost the energy to fool around."

Phew.

"It's probably big enough of a deal for you to act like that."

"Hmm, yeah, maybe."

I leaned closer to Kimi, still reading the book.

Kimi looks around and gets flustered.

"Y-you do know we're still being circled by a lot of people, right?"

"For a proud honor student, it's kinda funny how you get shy when attention is given to you by many people."

"I-I'm just not used to this!" Kimi squirmed.

I patted her head and said "Hehe, it's fine."

The bell rang.

People left the canteen after watching us for a few minutes.

That felt weird.

Well, at least Kimi and I are cool now.

As we walked towards our room, we heard people gossiping.

"Whatever. I still prefer Jeffery with that girl than with that other guy."

"They don't match together. I don't like it."

These were the things that we heard as we  walked.

I gotta say, I got a little pissed from that.

Why do they even care about that?

Is this what Jeffery goes through everyday?

Why do I even care about that?

These thoughts kept cirlcling around me as I hear more and more people talk around us.

Then, I felt a a light punch on my arm.

"Don't let them bother you. What matters is what we both actually think, right?" Kimi looked at me with a comforting expression.

"I mean, I agree that a hearthrob and a nerd are basically perfect matches in books I've read, but you know what? I refuse to be the nerdy heroine that falls inlove with a hearthrob."

Kimi grabbed my arm and said,

"If I'm the nerdy heroine of this story, I say that I'd fall in love with the nerdy guy beside me." Kimi smiled as she held my arm tightly.

I felt heat coming from my chest, as if it's about to burst burning.

"Thanks.." I think I needed that.

"But uhh, I don't classify myself as a nerd. I rarely read and search knowledge." I said.

"Don't ruin the moment, Andrei."

"Yeah, but--"

"SHUT UP! YOU NEED TO PREPARE FOR THE QUIZ BECAUSE I'M GONNA CRUSH YOU THIS TIME!"

"Hehe, nerd."

"You're the nerd!"

"Heh.. I guess we both are.."
