Y/n hummed a tune in her head as she began to cut strawberries and sliced them into a bowl, she whispered and shook her hips to the rhythm in her thoughts, in the other room were the Avengers, including Loki, who had changed according to Thor.
Y/n remembered Loki quite vividly in New York, 5 years ago, when he tried to take over, she was a friend on Tony's and her home was taken as she found it hard to get a job, so he let her stay with him.
Now, 5 years later, Y/n still lived in the Avengers tower, with the rest of them, she built relationships with most of them including Thor, when she found out Loki was going to live there as well she got quite excited- as Y/n has a bit of a crush on the Asgardian prince- the God of Mischief.
She never once dared to try to speak to him, but secretly looked for him when he read his book, his looks and ego had changed massively but his attitude hadn't, he was sassy and still could be quite nasty, Y/n is still quite intimidated by the handsome God. However Loki did not really hang around with everyone, you'd normally see him on his own in a quiet area reading or just watching everyone argue once in a while, he did communicate with the others, and did talk with his brother and joke with him, but he wouldn't do it on a daily basis.
Y/n was making strawberries and cream for Nat who herself and Nat had built a strong relationship, She finished cutting the strawberries, and went to get the cream from the fridge, she kept humming the tune that was stuck in her head as she shook the can of cream.
Loki closed his book and walked into the kitchen, holding the book of Shakespeare in his hands, he noticed Y/n was there and smirk to himself, he creeped up behind her ready to scare her, he pointed his fingers to her shoulder and with his magic he made a large spider appear, a black and yellow hair one, with legs longer than itself. Y/n with her back to Loki froze as she felt something on her, Loki eyed her carefully and the false spider as it crept to her neck.
Y/n looked down to her shoulder and turned around, when she saw the spider she screamed and out of fear she clutched the can of cream, the spider quickly disappeared with a flash of a green glow, Y/n shook her body as she cringed and screamed again, wiping her shoulder, as she noticed that Loki was the one who did it, she went to look at him but find him covered in squirty cream, it dropped off his face, as he glared at Y/n with annoyance- well that backfired.
"What the hell is going on here-" Tony yelled as he stomped in only to burst out laughing.
Y/n really didn't know what to say or do at this point, right now she just wanted to curl up in a ball and let the ground swallow her up, she got cream all over Loki- which she had a bit of a crush on too, her heart was racing and her hands were slightly shaking.
"Woah reindeer-games, you gotta bit of something on ugh-" Tony giggles pointing to his face. Loki turned back to Y/n and wiped off the cream with a nearby towel that laid on the counter in the kitchen, he wiped it off with disgust.
"Pathetic mortal.." He spat, cringing as the cream was sticky and stuck to his face.
Tony left giggling to himself like a little girl and Y/n was left speechless.
"I'm -im so sorry- ugh-" she couldn't believe this was actually happening, her heart felt like it was going to jump out of her chest. She couldn't help but stare into his eyes when he wasn't looking, now I know what they call them a god, he's fucking hot! She went to help him but he stepped back and held his hand up to say stop.
She brought her ears back and flushed of embarrassment.
Well done membrane! She said to herself.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ It had been a couple of hours since the "accident", Y/n spend the rest of the day in her room, just lying in bed and thinking about what happened, god he was so attractive.
Y/n got up off her bed and went to go and get a glass of water, as she had barely drunk all day. She hoped that Loki wasn't out as she didn't want to bump into him, because that would be really awkward.
She got to the kitchen with a clear sign that Loki wasn't there, but his book was, it was Shakespeare, Tony actually gave it to him as a joke from his language but Loki took it as a genuine present and is keep reading his sinners and poems and plays that he did.
Y/n totally forgot about having a drink and went straight over to his book that he left in the counter, she traced it with her finger tips feeling the rough hard cover, she opened the cover and Tony's hand writing was in it.
"Hope you like it, horny/ reindeer games" She began to flick through the pages to see small stars drawn with a pen on every random poems in the corner, symbolizing the ones he possible enjoyed the most.
Y/n felt like she was prying to much into his personal things so she closed the book and went to return it to him.
As she was walking down the halls to the library she looked down and at the cover of the book again, it was kept in really good condition surprisingly after about 2 years of having it.
As she was looking down at the book she collided into a hard figure at first she thought it was a wall, but when she looked up it was Loki, he was so much taller than Y/n will ever be and he wore slightly casual clothes, a dark green fabric vest that he probably wore underneath his armor and some black bottoms.
"I-sorry-" she cursed to herself for stuttering so much, Loki eyes peeled down not to her eyes but to his book that she was holding. Y/n realised and held it out to him.
"I was going to return it to you-"
"Don't touch my stuff, you pathetic mortal." He snatched the book out of her hands and walked passed her, she felt a bit hurt but only realized that it was just his character and probably didn't want to be seen as soft.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ Loki sat in his room with his book on his desk, he stared at it for a moment before picking it up.
"That Midgardian girl might not be so bad, mhm?" He hummed and began to read more of his Shakespeare book.
