Prologue

     Craaash! The glass statue shattered as it was knocked off the table by a young girl with sandy blonde hair. She looked up, guilt written all over her face. "Sorry, daddy." The girl's father, an older man with dark brown hair, rushed over. "Are you all right?" He kneeled down and grabbed her face. "Are you hurt?" She nodded, speechless. The glass was quickly swept up by the family's maid, who was never referred to by her name. The girl's father scooped her up into his arms. "Sandra, honey, you must be careful. Things like that won't be excused as you get older." As her dad began to walk away, Sandra looked back at the maid, feeling guilty for breaking a family heirloom.

     As Sandra lay in her bed, she wondered about what her father said. Why wouldn't a mistake be okay when I'm older? It was only an accident. But little did she know, an accident would change her life forever.
