The toasts had just ended, and everyone at the wedding reception had settled down and started eating. Cecil glanced over at Carlos and said with a mischievous grin"So! We're finally married! Any specific things you'd like to do to celebrate the occasion?"
Carlos smiled and laughed, his eyes twinkling. "Maybe. Maybe not. Well just have to see where it goes..."
Cecil stuck his tongue out at his beautiful husband, giggling as he did so. Nothing could interrupt the tender moment that the two men shared. That is, except for rainbow wedding cake.
After all the gifts had been opened and all the guests had left, Cecil and Carlos drove home. When they parked, Carlos said,"Wait, let me get the door for you." Cecil smiled and replied,"You don't have to do that, hon! I'm perfectly capable!"
Carlos kissed him lightly on the cheek and stated,"Nope, I won't allow it. Absolutely not." He proceeded to hoist him up out of the car and carry him into their house. Holding hands, they walked into their room, happier than they'd ever been in their lives.
"Cecil, I love you so much. I'm so lucky to have you in my life. I mean, that's why I married you. I should probably stop talking now," Carlos chuckled, his face blushing under his sprinkling of freckles.
"You probably should," Cecil laughed, pulling him in for a kiss. Carlos threaded his fingers through Cecil's soft, blonde hair as Cecil wrapped his arms around him. Cecil rested his head on Carlos's chest and sighed happily. Soon enough, they fell asleep, their breaths matching rhythm and their heartbeats in perfect synch.
