A/N - This is my first Bondi Rescue Imagine - there could potentially be a second part to this imagine :)

Feel free to send any requests!

Sure, the style of the bikini was a little different to the knee-length board shorts and crop-top you normally wore to the beach, but it felt good nonetheless. It was almost liberating to know that you might be able to enjoy Bondi without being on duty. Y/F/N was surprised when she saw you - as astonished as you were that you would be going to the beach to sunbathe and not watch the water.

Luckily, the pinnacle of summer had been and gone and the crowd was beginning to wane - you'd missed the heart of the summertime season, for if you weren't working, your best friend was and you were reluctant to go to the beach alone, knowing that you needed a distraction to prevent you from lifeguarding. Your friend's presence, however, didn't prevent the habitual glance you cast over the water as you both descended down the ramp nearest to the lifeguard tower. At the bottom, the sand felt glorious between your toes - Bondi seemed to feel different when you came in your spare time. Walking a little way ahead, you friend selected the perfect spot - away from the mass of tourists, but close enough to the promenade that you might dart off for an ice-cream or bottle of water. "Here?" She queried as she slowed in the open space and swivelled to meet your gaze.

You nodded, "Yeah, here's great."

At once, Y/F/N unrolled the towel that was bunched under arm, before lowering herself onto it, fingers grasping softly at the fine grains of sand on either side. You sighed as you gazed about the space, feeling content as you peeled your beach shirt from your back and the glorious heat from the sun met your skin. You tossed your shirt onto the sand, crouching at your tote-bag, which you'd discarded, and searching for your own beach towel. Stuffed in the bag was a top you'd been meaning to collect from Y/F/N for weeks, suncream, your purse, and you were certain, at the bottom, the towel you'd placed on your kitchen counter to remind you to bring. But, as you flung your hand into the bag, you felt only the material of the bottom. "Surely not!" You stammered, holding the bag up so you might peer inside to confirm you fear.

Y/F/N glanced upwards from her spot sat on the sand, "What is it?"

You couldn't believe yourself, "I've only gone and forgot my towel!" Shaking your head with disbelief, you attempted another search through your bag, which proved fruitless, "For fuck's sake - how many years have I worked on this beach? Never fucking forgot my towel before, have I?"

Perhaps, in hindsight, your reaction had been a little on the dramatic side, yet, you were't prepared to sunbathe on the sand alone for fear of finding sand in places it wasn't intended to be. But, your outburst had provided entertainment for Y/F/N, who rather sat back on her haunches and chuckled a little, surely rolling her eyes behind her sunglasses. Frustrated, you dropped your bag, watching as the sand shifted beneath it, before gazing upon your friend. Her laughter tempted a smile to your features and you hung your head on your neck and offered a hearty sigh. "Go and buy another?" Y/F/N questioned, inching her head in the direction of the promenade, knowing that every other shop that lined the beachfront would sell towels.

You almost considered it, furrowing your brow in thought, before your mind slipped to your laundry cupboard in your apartment - inside, there was a stack of beach towels and it felt unnecessary to purchase another just because you'd forgotten. "Mhmm," you contemplated, chewing on your lower lip, "I could..." You cast a last-ditch glance over the way you'd come, believing that you might have dropped it along the way, despite being certain that you'd left it at home. "Yeah, go on then."

You shifted as to grab your purse and as you returned to your full height, you lay gaze upon the lifeguard tower and immediately changed your mind. "No, you know what, I'll go and grab one from the tower - I'm sure there will be spare one there somewhere."
