"Don't do it Lila!" Cried out insanity worried jack.
"I have to! I was the cause of all this. Now I have to fix it!" Lila replied back a far more then a little worried. This was big, huge. Decisions. So many of them. So many options and all the more chances of getting something wrong. That's what bothers Lila the most; getting stuff wrong. Something that she has a tendency to do a lot. Something she try's to avoid at all cost. Mistakes are something that come to everyone naturally. But Lila would give anything to avoid it like a plague.
And right now: the choices for the remaining of the world lays in her hand. Just thinking about that gave her a chill. If she made one mistake... She would not be able make another, for that would be her last.
"No you don't! Mike can fix it! Like he did twenty years before!" He protests, still trying to convince Lila that it was best to stay. But she wasn't having it.
"He is dead jack! There is no point of beating around the bush! He is gone! Now I have to take his place." Lila muttered the last sentence. As if saying that, meant she would be the next hero to die. Like it would become all to real.
She turned around, just to see jack, one last time. But she immediately regretted it.
She felt her whole heart shatter, as she watched two tears roll down jacks checks. "Please." he whispered, just Loud enough so she could hear. His chocolate brown hair swaying from side to side because of the insane wind coming from the portal.
"Please, I beg you to stay." He said in the Same tone, but with more pleading in his perfect brown eyes then before.
Jack was never one to cry, he would always try to stay strong, calm, collected and confident. It was a shock to Lila as she watched him break in front of her. It hurt her too, to watch him break and she could do nothing but watch and make things worse.
But every memory of jack staying strong vanished, as she watched another tear roll down his check.
"I lost mike like this. I was telling him the same thing. But he jumped anyways. I lost my brother that I loved dearly that day. So please, stay for me." he asked, with his head falling to the ground. And continued, "And maybe he's not dead. Maybe he's still out there somewhere. You don't know if he's dead." With each word, his voice broke more and more. It sounded like he was trying to convince himself more then Lila . Like they where words of hope shared for them both, but mainly for Jack. Lila didn't take it personally. She never does.
Each second she spent watching jack cry, her heart would uneasily shatter into one thousand unfixable shreds of broken glass. An unfixable puzzle, if you will.
Jack was her best friend, next door neighbour; every thing to her. Watching him like this, was a far worst punishment then dying.
And there's some more decisions. Stay or go. Keep Jack or keep the world. This should seem like an easy question, but you try taking her spot and Having to leave the one you love the most like this; broken and hurt. It's hard, but it's like the answer is already a made decision.
"I'm sorry jack. I really, really " She said, with tears beginning to stream down her face uncontrollably.
The fate of the world lay in Lila's, small hands and she can't let it slip through her tiny fragile fingers. She can't just let emotions get in the way of it either. She is a fighter and she knows it.
She quickly turned her head back to the portal, she couldn't bare to look at jack any longer. It pained them both greatly. She loved jack, and there was no denying it. But they were only friends. She had a small feeling he liked her too, but she couldn't care less at the moment. There were greater things to worry and grief about.
