"Oh, come on, it'll be neat. We'll get to see everyone again, meet up one last time. I mean who knows what everyone's doing. Don't you think it'll be interesting to find out what everyone's up to?"
He has got me there; it would be kind of interesting. "Who would come?"
"Anyone we can get hold of. Just the seniors. Look, just think about it okay? I'll send you the details."
I sigh. "Alright, thanks."
"Okay, sweet dreams, Zayn-o."
I laugh a little. "Later, leprechaun."

"A reunion?" Violet looks at me from across the floor. "That sounds pretty cool."
I swallow my mouthful of Chinese takeout we ordered for lunch, sitting in Violet's dorm. I knew she'd react like this, a reunion is so up her alley. If she could I bet she'd stay friends with everyone forever. But I don't know why, most of the people in our year didn't even like Violet.
"I mean, I guess," I say, giving a small shrug.
"You don't seem that keen," she observes, eyeing me cautiously. "Worried about some people you'd see?"
"Aren't you?" I cry. "The last time you saw Liam you broke his heart and ran away. To me. I mean, I'm not complaining, at all, but you have to know the guy would be a little more than pissed. I'm not so keen on seeing him again."
Violet chews on the inside of her mouth. "I know, but that's why this is the perfect opportunity to make things okay again. I mean, he's my best friend, Zayn."
I look up at her. "He was."
She goes quiet for a bit, and it looks as though she might almost cry. "Yeah," she says. "Well there's never a wrong time to apologise."
"You really think a simple 'I'm sorry' will make him forgive you?"
"Who's side are you on here, Zayn?" She cries.
I hold up my hands in surrender. "Alright, alright, sorry. I'm just saying."
She sighs, fiddling around in her container with her chopsticks. "I know. He might not even come anyway. Plus, he's not the only one there to see. What about Louis and Harry? It'll be good seeing them, yeah?"
I shrug. "I guess."
She gives a half smile. "And what about Brittany?"
I just look at her and she laughs.
"I wonder who she ended up with," she continues. "Or what she's doing."
"Probably a stripper."
Violet laughs and we spend the rest of the afternoon guessing everyone's lives. And as we make up the most ridiculous scenarios I can't help but think if anyone does the same with us. I suddenly realise this reunion is a good idea, because I have a life to show off now. And just like everyone else we talk about, Violet and I give me the same thought; how did we end up here? I think I'm the luckiest guy in the world.

"One raspberry margarita please."
I get to work on creating the customer's desired drink, mixing and shaking and busying about. I find something really cool about being a bartender, it's always fast paced and challenging and I feel like some kind of magician when I work with alcohol.
I hand the woman her order and take her money from across the table, opening up the till and placing the cash in it's right place.
"Zayn! How are we this evening?" My co-worker, Trey, bustles up to me filling a glass with ice.
I think Trey is one of the coolest people I've ever met. He has spiky short brown hair, a pierced eyebrow and lip, tattoos all up his arms, and the best band shirts I've ever seen. He's about three years older than me at 21.
"Hey, going good, man. Yourself?"
"I am fucked," he responds, leaning against the bench and sighing. "See that girl over there?" He nudges his head towards a petite blonde sitting at the end of the bar, dressed in a very tight dress that certainly leaves little to the imagination. "Man is she a machine."
I look at him as he motions out different sex positions, and I try to laugh and nod along.
"Best sex I've ever had," Trey continues. "Fully recommend."
I laugh and shake my head, continuing to wipe the glasses. "You know I have a girlfriend."
Trey clamps his hand down on my shoulder. "Oh yeah! That mousy little girl. What was her name again? Vicky? Victoria?"
"Violet," I correct.
"Yes, that's the one. Tell me, what's she like between the sheets? She seems shy, but girls like that usually excel in bed. They bring out this whole new persona."
I awkwardly wipe the glasses, cleaning them so much that I don't think they've ever been so spotless. I can't tell Trey I don't know, so I just nod. And he nods back and winks, and I nod and wink and raise my eyebrows. He seems satisfied and laughs, slapping my back.
"Good on ya, Zayn." Then he stalks back over to the blonde.
I lean back on the counter and sigh. I've always respected Violet in the fact that I'm never going to force her into doing anything. When she's ready, she'll be ready. I mean, yeah, it's taking some time, and maybe I get a little impatient about it sometimes, and think of really dirty things, but I never push anything. It's not my decision. I want her first time to be perfect, and if that means waiting then so be it. It's not really a thing we talk about though, I think she finds the whole thing uncomfortable. There's even a limit on how far we go making out. She stops me, every time, when I go too far. I'm not usually this way with girls like Violet. I generally want one thing, and when I don't get it then there's no point me staying. But of course Violet's different.
It's just taking all the resistance I have not to give into temptation.
"Zayn." Trey snaps me out of my train of thought and points to his left at the customer waiting to be served. "You got this one while Tania and I go out back?"
I plaster a smile to my face and nod. Trey drags the blonde through the doors that lead to the store room out back and I give a small sigh. Man, that guy is seriously cool.
I walk over to the man sitting at the barstool. "Evening, Sir, what can I get you?"
