"Headache..." [Y/N] repeated herself. Alex didn't pull away, she kept hugging her even tighter.

Luka was smiling away, holding [Y/N] even closer to his body and [H/N] was jumping and rearing up and down the spot, his/her happiness taking over his/her body like demons and joyful neighs echoing through the fire.

[Y/N] turned over and opened her eyes. Her smile faded into a frown.

"Linda.."

She freed herself from Alex' and Luka's embrace and stars consumed her vision as she moved too fast.

Tumbling over, she soon fell to her knees and cupped the cheek of Linda, who was laying on Lisa's lap.

"Are you okay?" [Y/N] shakily asked. Her memory might be a bit blurry, but she exactly knew she's the reason Linda is hurt.

"She'll be fine [Y/N]" Lisa said with a reassuring smile. Her emotions were a simple mess and she didn't exactly knew what to do or say. Should she be happy that [Y/N] is alive or concerned that healing magic doesn't cure Linda's injuries?

"I have to say, I'm very disappointed"

The blood in everyone's veins ran cold at the deep, rough voice. Luka, Alex and [H/N] scooted closer to [Y/N], creating some kind of shield, while [Y/N] and Lisa hovered over Linda in protection.

The other horses were cut off by the fire. 

Darko's tall, dangerous silhouette was drawn onto the last remaining flames, until it finally stepped out.

He wore a sickening grin and an uneasy feeling over [Y/N]. Her hands started shaking, her body started sweating. If she wouldn't know better, she's scared of him.

"I see you made it out alive. Unfortunately." Darko's eyes met [Y/N]'s ones and her breathing hitched. Taking notice of that, Luka pulled [Y/N] closer to himself and inconspicuously rubbed small circles into her back.

"And I expected better from you Amber."

Amber...

Amber...

The name rang into Alex' ears, but she didn't knew why, nor why this girl was familiar to her.

"You're not even capable of fulfilling the most simple tasks"

"Most simple tasks?!" Amber repeated disbelievingly, getting up to her feet and glaring at Darko.

"You call that simple?! If it's so simple, why haven't you done it yourself ?!"

Amber was appalled, furious, fuming.

"Because I have better stuff to do" Darko plainly stated, his attention turning back to the Soul Riders and Luka.

"You sure know I won't let you just get away with her, right?"

[Y/N]'s heart sank, the uneasy feeling in her gut getting worse. Her breathing became shallow and quick, her heart almost jumping out her chest.

The sounds of heavy boots on the wet, burned down muddy ground.

One, two, three...

One, two, three...

It haunted in [Y/N]'s mind.

The closer Darko came, the tighter the invisible hand wrapped around [Y/N]'s throat.

As Darko was only mere meters away, Luka and Alex shot up to their feet in one abrupt motion, making [Y/N] wince at the sudden movement.

A hand laid on [Y/N]'s shoulder and pulled her back. It was Lisa. She has the barely conscious Linda safely in one of her arms, comforting [Y/N] in the other, while [H/N] was gently nudging his/her rider's shoulder.

Darko started to circle the group trying to find a weak spot, Luka and Alex following him step by step.

"Do you really think you could win this battle, Alex Cloudmill?"

Alex' mouth twitched into a snarl.

"Say what you want, but in the end the heroes will always win." She lowered her voice.

Darko stopped dead in his tracks, glaring at Alex before breaking into manical laugher.

"A hero? Oh dear, I thought I had taught you better than that." Darko spat.

"There are no such things as heroes or goodness. What seems heroic to you will always be villainous to someone else. Please remember that."

Alex breath got caught in her throat, as well as Luka's and the other's.

Another creepy smirk crawled onto Darko's face.

"Now if you don't mind, I have... business to attend."

He lifted his cane and brought it back down to the floor with tremendous force.

Flames engulfed him and [Y/N] as they both got teleported away.
