We used to think that the world, namely the people in it, were barbaric and uncivilized. Maybe even evil. We thought as our world went on, that we were getting better. But in reality it was all the same. We were just hiding it all behind closed doors. As generations passed, it progressed. Every evil, horrible act that took place behind our closed doors was passed down to our children and their children and so on. These heinous acts became accepted by the people.
Eventually they took to the streets. People were punished under the law. But even the law couldn't hold up under the continual progression of the people towards their demise. The laws eventually collapsed and the world became a free for all. It became a literal Hell on Earth. And the only way to escape was death. If only it were that easy.
Somewhere along the way, if there was truly a God up there, he decided that we would have to live with what we've done. And so we lived. And kept living. No gun to the head or amount of pills would offer you the sweet release of death. After so many years, his mercy was spent. And so we would suffer until we had earned the right to move on from this Hell.
