She caressed his cheek with tears falling from her bloodshot eyes like a broken faucet. She didn't want this..it was too much. She couldn't..he couldn't. He was the only thing she had left of /him/. She scooped him up and held him in her arms, he was so little..so fragile, like a glass doll..his slightly pudgy and short frame leaning onto her and her red stained dress. His glassy and bloodshot chocolate brown eyes stared up at her with fear. Blood trickled down from his mouth, the aftermath of him violently puking up blood.
"Mommy...I'm scared. I don't want to leave you and Levi.."
The little boy admitted to the white haired woman who had him in her arms. More tears poured from her eyes as she pulled him even closer so his face was nuzzled into the crook of her neck. He always used to do that when he got scared..she placed her lips on the side of his head and held onto him to for life. She was shaking like a leaf left outside in a storm. Her heart felt like it was shattering right then and there, she knew there was nothing she could do..that damn wizard had cursed him like he cursed her husband and this boys father. She honestly felt like she was slowly dying as well..first the boys father..then his brothers father..and now him.
"I-It'll be okay! I will fix this, just hang on a little longer Cas, please! Please stay with me for a few more moments!"
The boy nodded and held onto her tightly, she could fix this..right? Of course she could, she was a goddess!.. She clung to him with one arm while she leaned over a bit and grabbed the book she had been flipping through so desperate to find some sort of cure. She used her free hand to flip through the old pages, almost tearing a few. She had her arm around his side and her hand on the back of his head. His short white and black were a mess and all tangled. Slowly his grip began to loosen..She only noticed when he was no longer holding onto her. She sat up straight and looked at the boy in her arms. His dull eyes staring up at the ceiling, unblinking. His body was limp and the warmth was beginning to leave him. Her icy blue eyes widened as many emotions crashed down on her like a tidal wave. Fear..horror..dread..sadness. She shook him lightly and half shouted his name,
"Cas?! CAS?! No, please god don't leave me! Your the only thing I have left of him!"
But there was no use in shouting..she knew that..he was gone. She held her son close and cried to the heavens in sorrow. The blonde little boy downstairs flinched, his green eyes widening slightly. He knew what that cry meant..his brother was dead.
..........
She looked down at the old photograph in her hand as a tear slid down her cheek. She slowly brought it closer to her chest then hugged it, being very careful as to not accidentally crack the glass of the frame the old photo was in. She closed her eyes for a moment. After the death of Cas she kept Levi close to her, they only had eachother..until a demon met the white haired goddess. A twisted demon who's body was a deep red. He was so kind at first. He'd get along with Levi and be there for her when she needed it..and when she didn't..and when it wasn't wanted. She realized quickly it was nothing but a facade, he was obsessive and manipulative. She wanted to leave him and she tried but when she did..he shape shifted into her first husband.
He looked so much like him..he even sounded like him. In that moment she wondered if her dear Ammon was truly standing before her. But then she remembered her husband was long dead and instead a blue hued demon who absolutely despised her. But..if he could act like Ammon..then she'd stay. And that's exactly what he did. The red hued demon known as Zesbiel would often transform into Ammon Romeave, and for a short amount of time, things were semi normal and everything was well..that was until he started scratching her. He often left small yet deep scratches in different spots on her body. Levi threatened the demon many times but that often escalated to screaming and Levi throwing heavy objects at him. He tried to tell his mother that she needed to leave him but she couldn't..she just couldn't..he could bring her first husband back, even if it wasn't exactly in the way she wanted.
Over the long years Celine slowly began to change. Her icy blue eyes turned pure white and she slowly grew small horns. Levi grew very worried for his mother and raided the library like room they had with many old books about it, mostly containing spells, potion recipes and various other things related to magic and magical creatures. He found a book about gods and goddesses, he spent a couple painfully long days carefully inspecting each page until he found a page about corruption. The page explained how corruption effects gods and goddesses and how they could get corrupted though part of the page was ripped, a part where a cure might've been. It would go on to say that corruption could do many different things to s person depending on what their personality was. It could turn a slight prick into a complete asshole, it could turn a shy person into a sobbing and sorrowful mess, and..it could turn a caring and loving person into a pushover, who may want to kill people. It could alter their appearance to look more demon like and possibly make them loose all morality. He felt his heart drop into the pit of his stomach when he read the last part. Oh god..what had caused this..? And how would it affect his poor mother? He continued reading the other part of the page at the top, it explained that corruption could happen any number of ways from the tragic loss of someone that was held very dear to them to a horrible betrayed, etc. Gods and goddess may be divine beings but they did too have flaws like any other creature in the universe.
