Avni had joined this new job a week back. It had been a hell lot difficult for her to adjust in the new environment with new people and the new workplace. As if these are not enough, her colleague and she was sharing a lot of eye-locks the entire time. She was totally oblivious about what was happening.
She was intrigued.
Those brown-orbs filled with a lot of different emotions was crumbling her facade time by time.
She was losing it. Totally.
His name was Neil. that was something she was sure about.
He listened to the people often calling him by that name.
Sighing, she picked up her belongings and went to collect her mobile.
In her job place, they ought to deposit the electronic devices near the out gate. The very morning they will place a stick-on on the back side of the mobile, that is often filled with our details, like- name, number and the reason you are on the campus. Avni being the employee she can show them her ID card.
They implemented this rule recently because of the certain fraud issues going on in her company. Some guy actually had the audacity to snap their special codes and share to their rival company.
And, that's it.
Zip.
This rule.
Being tired, she entered her one stored apartment and lay down on her bed for some peace.
Suddenly, her mobile pinged declaring she had got some text message.
' Hey! These are the files you need to be updated by the end of the week ' The first text said.
Reading this, she scrunched her eyebrows finding od, someone was texting her fro the office. But, she hadn't given the number to anyone, she thought.
' This is neil, by the way ' was the second text.
Reading this, made her feel a different kinda emotion for the first time in her life. And, she was looking forward to feeling that frequently.
' Yeah, thanks ' she replied shortly after composing herself.
From that day, there was a massive change in both of them. Both were looking and smiling at each other. Greeting. Hanging out more. And let's not forget about the attraction, it's definitely much more than it was before. Each was suppressing it due to all sorta dumb reasons.
These both!
But that one day neil was afraid that if he hadn't taken the stand, someone else will and that made him snap, gather all his courage and ask her.
" Uh, Avni " neil approached her from behind.
Avni looked at him lovingly, he was the same. Dashing and innocent. But, Those brown-orbs were the ones that speak to her every single day.
Shaking her head, she has to control check her emotions, she thought.
" Yeah, neil? " she asked looking at him curiously.
" Will, will you? " he scratched his neck and started combing his hair.
The stuff he does, when he's nervous.
He's adorable, she thinks to herself grinning.
She was so enjoying this.
" Will you go on a date with me Avni? " Neil asked finally gathering courage.
" Finally " Avni mutters only to think he hadn't heard her.
" What? " neil asks baffled.
" I was waiting for you to ask from a week neil. And finally, now you gathered your courage and took a step. I am proud of you " she says grinning.
" Avniiiii yaar, " he says and goes behind her trying to catch.
From stranger to not so stranger their journey was worthy because they were with each other.
It is not the end. But it's a beginning of something new. Something worth living for.
