.
Your knowingness I crave
Beyond your body and your heart.
Share with me that certainty,
That blessed affirmation
Of a future so familiar
Which we carved into palm.
Let those carvings be our guidance:
The initials our compass;
The heart our world.
.
And you know how I doubt:
The next time we look at the tree
I imagine us then dispersed.
Constant is that guilty suspicion that our compass
Was crafted of dreams entirely;
Otherwise what angst I face
When I should tamper with cobble.
.
I drift into my unknown
But your sigh draws me back
Into my harbour
And to mine your palms press;
Waves of emotion,
Tides of affection.
.
I know
That you know
That I don't know.
So you share with me that certainty,
That blessed affirmation,
And we walk under palms upon cobble,
Palms pressed,
So I know that all I need to know is you.
