~*Two*~

I shouldn't have talked to the girl. Nor just stood there. I should have just ran away when I had the chance. But no, I just had to talk to the kid. Currently, she was scurrying down the lengthy, off-white hall, begging me to hurry up.

"Hurry up! We might be able to catch him before he locks himself in his room!" says the little one.

I don't even know her name and I'm here, running through the halls with her just so she can show her brother me, like I'm some kind of new, shiny toy. Which reminds me...

"Hey, kid. What's your name?" I ask, breathless. Yes, even ghosts can get tired.

"Oh. I'm Ella Rose" she says, stopping and turning around to face me.

She stops so quickly I don't even get the time to register that we're in front of a door - when I fall right through her. I face plant into the floor with an imaginary thud, because, well ghosts can't actually make noise that humans can hear.

"Oh my gosh. Are you ok?" Ella Rose asks, just as the door opens.

A tall, dark and handsome man walks out....well a girl can dream right? This guy, looked about my age. His windswept, dirty blonde hair falls over his eyes, his gorgeous blue/brown eyes. He has a perfectly sculpted face...and body. I just noticed that he was shirtless, and damn. If I was alive I'd probably die right then and there.

But something about him, his hair, his eyes, his perfect tan, his built body - something about him was so familiar. I swear I've seen him before, and that's saying something since I hadn't seen anybody - besides Ella - after I died. But that's impossible, he's a human, he can't be over 72 years old.

"Ella? What are you doing on the floor?" asks an achingly familiar voice. I swear I've seen him before! I just can't remember.

I took the time to notice that Ella Rose was lying besides me, staring at me. She was probably just as shocked as me, just for a different reason. He didn't see me. He can't see the dead!

"Um I wanted to show you my new friend, Skylar" says Ella whilst standing up and pointing towards me.

"Who are you pointing to Ella? No one's there." says Mr. Tall, dark and handsome.

"Yes there is!" she practically shrieks "she's right there. Can't you see her? You saw the other ones!"

Understanding flashes across his eyes. I'm guessing that he figured out that his little sister was talking about the dead. By the way he was shifting uncomfortably, I think that the other times his sister brought this up, he had lied to her. Probably saying that he could see them, with not actually seeing them.

"Oh. Yeah, about that.... I can't see her, Ella." He says while rubbing the back of his neck, ashamed.

"Oh, well I guess you were lying. I thought so."

"What?" he asks, shocked

"Well that one time when you called Mr. Flowers a she, I figured you lied." She says proudly

"I'm sorry Elle's, I didn't mean to. I just, thought you were kind of-"he starts

"Crazy?" says a happy Ella "that's ok. I get that a lot."

Then, Ella hugs her stunned brother and skips off towards god knows where. I just stay there, sitting on the ground, hoping he can't see me. Because even though he just confessed he couldn't, you can never be so sure. The guy looks around the hall, his eyes stopping at me for just a millisecond longer. He turns around, and heads back into his room. Weird, can he sense me? Feel my presence? I know it sounds odd, but many things in this world are odd. I sit up, not knowing what to do or where to go, when I hear a sound. It seemed like a piano, playing the Moonlight Sonata, by Beethoven.

I crawl and look inside the dude's room. There, sitting on a white piano bench, playing the white, grand piano, was the oh-so familiar man, that claimed to be Ella Rose's brother. His fingers gliding lightly over the black and white keys, and his head moving the music. It was beautiful.

It was then, when I remembered the man's name. Damien Pierce. Although this guy looked more like a descendant of Damien. He was my close friend. He passed a few years after me due to a hard-hitting flu that had passed through our village at the time. They hadn't had enough medical supplies to treat everyone, therefore causing many people to lose their life to the threatening disease. His wife and his kid didn't die though, his kind Marie and their wonderful 10 year old son, Rupert. When I had found out the news that Damien passed, I was heartbroken. We were so close; we knew everything about each other. Damien was one of those people with "supernatural" powers. He could see me when I was a ghost. I figure his talent got passed along to Ella Rose. I guess I didn't remember him, I had totally forgotten about him for my own good...

Suddenly, the beautiful music stops, and an angry faced "Damien relative" stormed out. Wonder what's his problem... I look inside his room again, staring at the very inviting white piano. Maybe just one song...

*Jayden's POV*

I walk down the hallway towards my room when I hear a beautiful sound emanating from my piano. A melodic voice sang along with it. It was so sad, yet it was amazing. I slowly walked towards my room and peeked inside. No one was there, only the keys of the piano - my grandma bought me - moving. Weird.

I know that song anywhere. My sister was obsessed with their band a while ago. Florence and the Machine. I think the song's called Don't tell me. I'm not sure but it doesn't matter. What matter's is why are the keys moving, a voice - with no body - singing, and why in my room? Only one thing comes to mind. It's what Ella was talking about earlier today.

It was a ghost, named Skylar.
