"Ahlya, we're here." My mother said as we slowly pass the 'Welcome to Ohio' sign. It is 3:41 a.m and my brother, Alex, has fell asleep and is currently snoring as loud as a hibernating bear.
As my mother caught my attention, I paused the current movie I was watching-on my laptop- to listen.
"Are you excited?" Mother turned to face me, but shortly after, I lectured her for doing that,
"Pay attention to the road!" I scream as she takes a very sharp turn to the right. She then began to giggle. The turn caused Alex to wake up, and as he did, he started to cry. That was heard the rest of the way to our new apartment, Ahhh-ahhhhhh!'
We finally arrived at our apartment, well, it was as big as a townhouse— and the name was
'Billy Townhouses'.
After Alex cried, he obnoxiously fell back to sleep, not knowing that we were 2 minutes from "arriving at our destination"– at least, that's what Siri said...
As I walked in, the kitchen floor had a pattern of which was marble and the carpets were long with a beautiful tanish Brown tint to it. The bathroom probably belonged to a mansion—it was that big!
Then you had my room, it still had thumbtack holes in it—probably from the last renter— and had a bright blue and purple color for the walls, along with white dots of paint. To me, it looked like a galaxy.
My mother, Alex, and I, start pulling boxes from the U-Haul and pile them up inside, creating a big stack of half empty boxes. Each room had a different stack. Boxes that read 'LIVING ROOM' on it would belong together in a separate pile from the 'DINING ROOM' boxes that were set aside the living room.
After all the boxes were brought in, we set up mattresses and went to bed. It was 8 p.m.(.)
As I woke up, mom was already making a delicious breakfast that was one of my favorites. The just the smell is what brought me up from bed.
The smell of bacon and eggs and buttery biscuits and sausage!
"Ahlya?"
"Yes mother?"
"Can you do me just a small favor? Can you get your brother up?"
-a small favor ehh?-
"He sleeps like a bear!" I left the kitchen as my mom said thank you and continued to flip that crispy bacon over and over again. I mean... I hope* it is all worth it.
I make it to Alex's bedroom, and walk to where he is sleeping.
"Pffftt"
"ALLLLLLLEEEEXX!"
(Now, for how loud Ahlya just screamed, Alex was for sure to wake up.
But, he just kept snoring.)
"Today is gonna be a long day!" Ahlya whispered as she closed her eyes and repeatedly shook Alex awake.
