As I walked out of the office building, my phone buzzed. I looked down, and it was my boss.

"Violet, check your email. Let me know if you want to accept." I swiped away the text and opened my email app. I saw one titled URGENT: FW VIOLET. When I clicked it, I saw that one of our company partners needed a new assistant for the development division. They were looking for someone with a experience and willing to live in Japan. On the metro ride home, I sat on the seat in shock. I was trying to find some new path in my career, and it finally opened up to me. When I got further downtown, I got off the metro and walked up the steps towards the street. It only took me a few minutes to get to the high-rise that I lived in. I swiped my key card to enter the elevator and clicked for the 69th floor. I giggle every time I have to click it. The bell pinged, and I stepped out. I typed my code into the pin pad, entering the room. There was a red rose bouquet on my table with a gold embossed card tucked into it. Lifting the flap, it said congratulations with the initials K.S. maybe her boss knew that she was going to accept the job offer? Looking around, I noticed that my roommate wasn't here, so I took off my pants to be comfier. It took only a few minutes to fill out the forms in my email, and they were finally sent off. Immediately the Japanese company replied:

We look forward to working with you Violet. Attached you will see your ticket and address for your company house. You will be picked up at the airport. Look for your name on a sign outside of security. Please email with any further questions.

Wow, they are giving me a house to live in. It is unbelievable how quick everything is happening. The tickets are for a week from now!
Hurrying to start packing, Sarah walked into the apartment.

"Yo Vi, I put those flowers on the table earlier. What's up?" Sarah threw her keys on the counter and grabbed a wine glass out of the cabinet.
As she poured a Rosé, I gave her all of my news. She hugged my pantless self and poured another glass for me. We clinked glasses and downed a couple of glasses throughout the night. We blasted music as I threw items into bags and boxes.

It took me only three days to get all of my stuff out of the apartment and brought to a storage unit. I only packed two suitcases for the trip because they said everything else would be provided for. Finally, it was time to get on my plane. I already checked my bags in and went through security, so all I had to do was wait in line to check into the plane. I was riding first class from here to Tokyo. The attendants started to go on, and I scanned my ticket. It took a while to go down the little hallway and onto the plane, but eventually everything settled down. I plugged my headphones in to doze off, but it felt like only seconds later a flight attendant was nudging me awake to tell me we were landing. After unloading and grabbing the two suitcases, I looked for my name on the hundreds of signs. I spotted it and walked towards an older man in a business suit.

"Are you Violet?" I nodded yes.
"Follow me to the car.  Kaito-san is expecting you." I sat in the back of the black car watching the bright city pass by. There were arcades, restaurants, casinos, bars, and every once in a while trains crossing over us or parallel to the road. I stared in awe at the view until the tall buildings turned into neighborhoods and then mountains. We drove for about an hour until we arrived at a wooden home with thin paper walls. I could see a younger man standing in a navy kimono on the deck.
When the old man, Yoshi-San, parked the car, the younger man walked to open my door.

"Welcome Violet. My name is Kaito, and this is my home. Please follow me." He guided me to an open wall panel, and I automatically removed my shoes to place the slippers on my feet. Once inside, I noticed tatami mats on the floor and a beautiful tea ceremony set up in the middle of the room. We kneeled in front of the set up, and he gracefully prepared tea. After the ceremony, he started to tell me about my job.
