The Happiest Day

A sudden fist to the stomach. And a solid grip on my right shoulder holding me down.
"Come on Aaron. Just hand us the cash."
"Keith.... I don't... Have..."
I have to stop to spit out blood.
"Aaron, I know that's false. Hand it over and we won't bother your gir-"
"You Lay A Hand On Her And You Lose It."
"Just hand us the money."
"Go bother.... *cough* Bother... Max..."
"Max ain't here." Keith grinned at something behind Aaron.
??? "Aaron?!?"
"N-no..."
Keith pointed at that all familiar voice and told his buddy's to bring her over. And that's when I snapped.
"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH HER!"
I'm suddenly on my feet with my fist in the side of Keith's face. His boys stop and see as Keith drops to the ground, not moving.
".... I-is he dead?"
I turn to look at them.
"Touch her, and your next."
They don't even think twice, they take off running. Ditching their friend on the ground.
"Aaron...."
"I know.... I should have aimed lower, but I'm done with him and even more so with him using you against me."
She hugs me tight and I think I can feel my shirt becoming damp. I hold her close and brush her hair.
"You need to get to class."
"You need to get to the principles office."
"I'll walk you there."
"Go Aaron, I don't need you getting suspended because it seemed you attacked him."
"Fine."
She kisses my cheek and runs off to class. I walk towards the office... But break at the bathroom, where I mark my skin with a pencil and blood. I hide it under my sleeve and head to the office. I walk in and sit down at the waiting area.
"What can I do for you Aaron?" asks the office attendant.
"I was wondering where Ms.Da-"
"Im right here Aaron." The principle Ms. Daniel and the nurse walk in.
"How did you..?"
"How did I know you were coming? Simple, your girlfriend is late to class, Keith is no where to be seen and his buddy's are with security for trying to ditch."
I'm speechless.
"Also you look like you got in a fight with falling bricks."
"Keith's in 3rd hall on the floor. I punched him good."
"You know my next question."
"Self defense and defense of another."
"The other being Eve?"
"Ya..."
"Alright. Go with the nurse, I'll take care of Keith."
I go with the nurse and am set to go after forty minutes. I catch myself talking to no one.
"A month into school.... Yay...."
Maybe class will be better...
