I think that Miraculous Ladybug is takes place in the near future.

In real life the Eiffel Tower is not as rusty. And rust means it's old. And there are NO tourists. In real life all those places and monuments would be crowded. Unless it was in the future and people didn't care about traveling the world.

Adrien's mom being in hibernation (Her body is waaaayyyy to well preserved to be otherwise.) That tech is not around now. All the fancy/high-tech cars. And in captain hardrock, we see them FLIP CARS with just sound! Before she was akumatized.

Also how corrupt the government is. I havent been to Paris (yet) but I'm fairly sure that it is not that corrupt. The agrest's mansion security should not be that good even if they are rich. And how you get into hawkmoths lair.
