"Hello." I said looking at Kierra who was on her phone not paying attention to me.
"Hey. My phone was broke and I couldn't receive calls." She said. I heard Messiah talking in the background.
"Put him on the phone." I said not caring about her phone issues.
"Wassup man." I said as a smile crept on my face.
"Wassup." He said laughing.
"Whatchu' doing?" I asked looking at Kierra again.
"Watching tv. Can I go with you?" He asked me.
"I'm gone right now but when I come back yes." I said into the phone.
"Ok."
"I love you. Call me before you go to sleep." I said taking a glance at Kierra who was looking at me now.
"Ok." He said hanging up.
"What?" I asked looking at her.
"That was your son?" She asked smiling.
"Yeah." I said opening the door to a restaurant.
"Awe. How cute." She said laughing.
"What's his Mom like?" She asked as we waited to be seated.
"Seat for two?" The waitress asked me.
"Yeah." I said looking at Kierra with a confused face. I'm kind of shocked she asked about Laila.
"Right this way." The waitress said with a smile.
When we sat down Kierra grabbed a menu. "Umm. She cool I guess." I said grabbing a menu.
"Just cool?" She asked not looking up from menu.
"Me and Laila don't really see eye to eye all the time." I said looking at her. Admiring her features.
"Ouu. Laila. That's a pretty name." She said looking up at me.
"You different." I said looking at our waitress walk up to our table.
"Are you guys ready to order?" The waitress Jaden asked. I read her name tag.
Once she took our order she left. Kierra continued our conversation.
"Different? What? How?" She asked sipping the water the waitress brought.
"You asking about my sons mom." I said with a straight face.
"Because I wanted to know what kind of person you have a baby by? I guess I am different." She said trying to be funny.
"Why you always gotta do that?" I asked squinting my eyes.
"Do what?" She asked looking at her nails.
"Always gotta say something smart." I said getting on my phone.
She didn't say nothing back. I'm honestly glad because her attitude is something I can't deal with.
