It was 2003, and it was just a normal day in the town of Dansville New York. In Dansville there was this girl would had a personality problem.This girl always has to put up a fight to keep her other side from coming out which is just trouble. All she does everyday is fight it and she doesn’t know if she can keep going. It always gets her in trouble or hurts her verbally. It’s a daily struggle.
First of all, the girl that is struggling to be so good and is tired of fighting is Hannah and the side that’s trying to fight to break Hannah is Kayla. Hannah isn’t just a ordinary 14 year old. She has to face Kayla every moment of the day and never can keep her locked away. Well one day Hannah was getting ready for school when all of a sudden Kayla thought she should come out and criticize everything she was wearing. “What do you think your wearing,” replied Kayla. “What’s wrong with my clothes. All I’m doing is going to school,” replied Hannah.
Two hours later, Hannah finally was finished getting ready and is on her way to school. Hannah just saw her friends at the bus stop and was waving at them. Shortly after Hannah caught up to her friends the bus pulled up on them. “Good morning,” said the bus driver. Everyone didn’t feel the need to say anything so they just kept on moving to the back of the bus. “Yay I’m first for once,” said one friend. “It’s really not a bad thing that you get the seat now and not before,” said another friend. “Whatever,” said Kayla.
The bus finally pulled up to school. “Why did you bring me here again?” said Kayla. “It’s just school you’ll be fine,” explained Hannah. “Ugh why can’t you just skip school?” says Kayla. “Just behave yourself,” said Hannah. “Never!” yelled Kayla. “So let’s go to class so we aren’t late again,” said Hannah to her friends. Then all her friends walk Hannah/Kayla to class so they secretly can skip school again. Once Hannah/Kayla walk into her classroom Kayla decided that she would tell off the teacher for no reason. “GO TO THE OFFICE THIS MINUTES AND I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU IN THIS ROOM FOR THE REST OF THE DAY,” said the teacher. On her way to the office Hannah thought she should say “Why would you do that?” “I wanted to have fun,”said Kayla. “Well when you want have fun you always get me in trouble,”Hannah explained.
Later in the office, Hannah was so nervous about if she was going to get suspended or expelled or something bad. As soon as Hannah snapped out of it she heard her name being called into the principal’s office. “So I was told that you told off a teacher for no reason, do you care to explain your actions?” said the principal. “You would never believe me if I told you, no one ever does,” Hannah explained. “Well you better have a good reason or you will be suspended,” the principal replied. “I have another side that always gets me in trouble,” Hannah explained. “That’s not a good excuse for your actions so you leave me to do nothing but suspend you for one week,” said the principal.
After her long morning, Hannah kept thinking on her walk home on what she would say to her mom. Her mom never would believe Hannah cause she always thought that she made up excuses for her actions. Her mom always says she has a crazy imagination. She’s just hoping one day that someone will believe her and not think that she’s crazy. As she was walking she suddenly snapped out of her train of thought and saw her mom's car. “Oh no your so busted,” said Kayla. “This is all your fault, you should have behaved yourself and not tolded that teacher off,” Hannah said.
Once Hannah/Kayla walked in the door she saw her mom waiting in the living room on the couch. Her mom looked so frustrated and disappointed. Once Hannah/Kayla closed the door her mom looked up at her. “I can’t even look at you right now, just go to your room,”said her mom. So Hannah/Kayla headed up to her room slowly. She felt so hurt that her mom was so upset. She wishes so badly that Kayla would go away but that’s impossible. Hannah has tried to get Kayla to leave but everything she has tried never works. All Hannah thought to do was sleep and hopefully her mom would calm down.
It’s been ten hours since Hannah went to sleep. Hannah got out of bed and went to see if her mom was calm but realized that is was one in the morning. Hannah decided to go get something to eat cause she hasn’t eaten in awhile. Once she got downstairs she saw the kitchen light on. She also heard whispering. It was her parents talking about something. “I think we should send her to boarding school,” said her dad. “But I think we should talk to her about what’s really going on with her,” said her mom. “You keep telling me she keeps making up excuses right?” said her dad. “Yeah, but I think she needs help” said her mom. “Let’s talk to her tomorrow and see if something is really wrong,”said both her parents. As soon as Hannah walked in the room Kayla came and yelled at both of them and said “You will never be able to get rid of me, I’m here to stay”. As soon as she finished Kayla made Hannah run out the front door and down the road. “Where are you taking me,” said Hannah. “I told them the truth and now I’m making you run away,” said Kayla. “They deserve to be hurt and miserable,” said Kayla. “Why are you ruining my life?”Hannah questioned Kayla. “Cause it’s fun,” said Kayla.
One day later, Hannah made it all the way to New York City. “I want to go home,” said Hannah. “I’ll never let you go,”said Kayla. “Why? You really hurt my parents and made them worry even more,” said Hannah. “I want everyone around you to think your going crazy and send you to an asylum,” said Kayla. “Why? What did I ever do to you,” Hannah asked? “You’ve always try and push me away when all I ever did was help you stand up for yourself but it’s too late for that so I’m ruining your life cause your weak,” Kayla replied. “I never thought of you helping me stand up for myself,” said Hannah feeling guilty. “I always thought you were out to get me cause you never liked the way I lived,”Hannah replied.
Six months later, Hannah was walking around her apartment in New York City trying not panic about her parents are on there way to get her. She is worried on what they were thinking. Hannah was afraid about if they are so angry on what Kayla made her do. Hannah wishes that Kayla would just end her suffering and struggle. It’s just too hard for her to live this way. Kayla has made her life a living nightmare the past six month. Kayla has forced her to lie about her age in order to get a job and then lie to get an apartment. All Hannah has ever wanted was to go home and for her parents to forgive her. Hannah hopes that they have forgotten about the sending her away. All this comes into her mind when she suddenly heard a knock on the door.
It’s been about an hour for Hannah to know that her parents were coming for her. Once Hannah opened the door she saw a lady standing in front of her. “Are you Hannah Smith,” the lady asked. “Yes,why,” Hannah asked? “I would like to inform you that your parents have been a car accident,”the lady said with a sad look in her eye. “A-are t-they o-k,” Hannah could barely get out. “When the other car hit them, your mother didn’t make it to the hospital,” the lady said. “W-what about my d-dad,” Hannah asked with tears streaming down her face. “We don’t know yet,we couldn’t find him at the scene,” says as the lady looks like she’s about to lose it. As soon as the lady said that last word Hannah just dropped and couldn’t breathe. As soon as the lady saw Hannah in that state she just took off like a heartless person would.
A few hours later, Hannah finally has gained her balance. “Why Kayla, why did you make me ever run away,” Hannah asked? “I warned you that I was going to ruin your life,” Kayla said. “I can’t do this anymore,” Hannah replied. “Well I’m going to make you do it against your will and make no one believe you ever,” Kayla stated. After she heard Kayla say that Hannah went to the roof of her building and she step up to the ledge. Everything that has happened to her cause of Kayla ran through her head. One more step is all she had to do is end it all. Hannah finally made a decision and she took her step. Hannah has always lived a hard life trying to get by but having a personality disorder that lead her to this part of her life was always a struggle.
