Previously in Into The Depths: Laviticus let go immediately backing away from him. No, his father left them. His father had died. Now he's claiming he's alive. What is going on? How can this be? What else has the headmaster left out?
"It's time to see him don't you think...?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laviticus couldn't understand anymore. He wanted to run. Run away from these feelings he couldn't understand. Why was it he was feeling so afraid now? He couldn't understand, his father had died, he was dead and yet this man before him claimed differently. He no longer understood. But he wasnt going to stay around any longer.
Laviticus turned fast on his heels exiting the building swiftly. Bursting out into the fall air, welcoming the non suffocating air. He hadn't realized how much he needed this air. How much he needed to be out in it. The unforesaken suffocated feeling he had felt as he was trapped in that room.
He felt like a cornered animal. Or like small helpless prey running from an unknown predator that would hunt it endlessly until it got what it wanted. The kill, the meat, and the death of the smaller animal it previously had been hunting. Merciless against the tides of the survival of the fittest. If you weren't strong enough to fight you'd be killed in an instant. Laviticus had learned that the hard way. He learned it from experience over time.
He never knew the Aquticas would be so close to finding him. He never believed that he would have basically now shown the whole world his fears and monsters on camera. Now what? With the Aquticas knowing that he's in the town, he wouldn't be safe and now with his knee findings he was even more confused than before. What was he supposed to do? Maybe... maybe it was time to visit an old friend and care taker of his. Maybe he'd be able to answer the new questions Laviticus had.
It was time to go see the head master for the first time in years....
The door to the orphanage opened silently as one of the nannies looked to see who could possibly want to be here at such a late hour.
It was already past midnight and who ever was at the door was reluctant to leave with out the answers or caring they needed.
When the nanny had opened the door, she was expecting a child or an adult with a child, not Laviticus. So when she saw him she was taken aback. What was he doing her? Must have been important.
"L-Laviticus is that really you dear?" Her voice was fragile and frail, showing her age as she spoke.
"Yes nanny it's me..." Came the reply from the almost unrecognizable male.
It had been years since anyone had seen him. But they knew he was doing just fine and was still living. He was barely sixteen when he had left. Now he looked to be in his early to mid twenties. His hair had grown out and his violet fading into blue eyes didn't gleam as much as they had when he was younger. Not to mention he was much taller and more broad at the shoulders. It was clear he had some experiences with exercise. He still had the freckles that littered his face, his pitch black hair that would occasionally fall into his eyes, his skin was pale and fare.
The nanny knew he had to be here for something important. He wouldn't have just... shown up like this with out a notice, and especially not at this hour.
She grinned from ear to ear. "Why don't you come on in dear? I'll make you some tea and get the head master." She merely stepped aside for him to make his way in. "Thank you." He muttered out.
She moved to shut the door glancing outside into the darkness as if something was there before shutting the door fully.
A sigh escaped Laviticus's mouth as he felt uneasy. He hadn't stepped foot in the place for almost 6 years now. It wasn't much different than before. The two wide oak doors were met with white walls, that encased the entire room. On the walls were children's rhymes and childhood characters from old tv shows. In the center of the room sat a clerk's desk, like those you see in hotel lobbies.
In the chair behind the desk sat mrs. Jones. Her glasses went down to her nose, her once blonde hair was now completely silver, her blue eyes could pierce into the souls of others, she wore a nun like outfit and kept her hair in a tight bun that sat midway on her head. Her old, frail body carried some stories of that came with age.
Continuing on through the room were wide windows that were draped with light beige curtains. Towards the window was black chairs that aligned the white walls and some sat in the middle like a waiting room in a doctors office. On the wall a tv was mounted showing some kids show.
As I glanced around I noticed the door on the other side of the clerk desk that lead to where the orphans slept and played.
I followed nanny through that door and into a hallway that's floor was covered in a light beige carpet to match the curtains that hung on the windows.
As you continued down the hall doors littered the walls leading and branching off to different rooms that would holed four to six kids at a time. Bunk beds would be lined neatly along one wall or both sides of the room with a small bedside dresser with a lamp and a Bible on top of it.
At the top floor sat the head masters office so he would be able to look over the grounds below. When you reached the head masters office a big dark oak door would be waiting for you at the very end of the hallway. When you walked inside of the room you were met with red carpet, white walls and a giant window that a desk sat in front of. In front of the desk sat two leather seats.
To the right you were met with a book shelf that was littered with books upon books, that were placed neatly and in order upon the shelf. The bookshelf matched the darkness of the oak door and covered the entire white wall.
To the left sat a light beige couch with a picture about it of a red rose. On either side of the couch sat two fake trees. Next to the plants in the corner of the left wall sat filing cabinets that was filled with documents about the children's that lived in the orphanage.
As I was lead in, I noticed the head master standing with his hands behind his back and looking out the window. I swallowed nervously as I stared at the man's back.
He wore a tailored suit despite the lateness of the night and his hair salt and pepper hair was cut in short. He turned to face me. His Carmel brown eyes gleamed as he saw me. His beard was gently trimmed and resembled his hair color. His bangs fell above his slightly bushy eye brows, which arched when they saw me. I watched a smile creep across the man's face.
"Hello there Laviticus. Long time no see."
