You see the world is full of a number of things, but most of them just hurt us. Take for example my father died in the vietnam war when I was only three, my mom went on to live in this small town in Michigan named Copper Harbor to work three jobs. Now she wasn't perfect I mean at all she had a horrible taste in men, it was so bad that I was taken away when I was six so 1977 the year of Star Wars. I was raised by my fathers parents until I was fourteen, and well this is where the real story begins. In the summer of 1982 my grandfather died, the one who actually cared for me and would do anything to keep me safe. My grandmother on the other hand always called me Cameron which was my fathers name because I was so much like him. We lived in Indianapolis, I was destined to be a city girl ever since I could talk but I also didn't want anything to do with my family. The last time I saw my mother was the summer of 1979 I was eight and going into third grade. I was going to finally be back with my mother, she took me shopping, introduced me to some local kids, even introduced me to her fiancè the head sherrif of the town. Little did I know that he was extremely abusive to her when I was asleep and that I would soon have a little brother. Once my grandmother found out the news her number one priority was to get me back to her home. I had met two boys on my journey Evan and James. They were the only kids who had accepted me, my best friends and I had to leave them without a goodbye. I've never let myself forget, even if my grandmother said there was no way to avoid it. Not short after my bestest friend Dennis who lived next door moved away to Michigan. I never thought I'd see him again. Like my grandfather always said life is full of suprises all you have to do is bite the bullet. I just had to do it my way by running away.
