it's never been easy,
don't think it has been for anyone.
brains don't like to
focus until the breaking has begun.

you can see the lights outside,
how they taught your limited vision.
you want to step outside
but your weak legs present derision.

watching the light burn out
is one of the most painful parts.
knowing you're missing yet another chance
to feel the warmth before the train departs.

i wish for the both of us that
you one day feel that light hit our skin.
we both need it to feel alive,
to feel our worth within.

please, step into the light
as soon as you get the strength.
i know its hard to reach but
the warmth is worth the extended length.
