"Alright, fine. You guys go VonTrappe and I'll meet you for lunch later."

When we got to the studio, AB greeted me with dark sunglasses and quiet voice, it was practically a whisper.

"AB? My brother's been trying to reach you all day..."

"Yeah, I had some stuff to do. I'll call him later."

Micah's voice cut through the silence, "When someone you love calls, you should answer the phone."

AB stared at him through his sunglasses, "I'll get to it."

"Come on, Micah, we've got to set up our amps, I'm excited to play." I opened the door to Studio Selena, AB named each studio room after a musical influence. We usually played in Studio Prince but it was being renovated. A few minutes later we were all set up.

Logan was going over the different songs he wanted me to learn, and a few of the chords I would need to practice, when Micah stood up.

"I'm going to talk with AB, I'll be right back." Logan and I looked at each other.

"Okay, well, you're welcome to come back at any time." Logan shrugged and looked back at me.

When Micah closed the door, Logan leaned in for a quick kiss. "I really enjoyed our time last night, it's been a while since... well it's been a while since we've had time together."

I blushed, "I'm... happy."

"You are?" His eyes glinted, and a smile formed.  He looked back at his guitar for a moment, playing with his pick. "I was wondering if maybe you wanted to get together for New Years eve, we could watch the ball drop and eat snacks and have party food," He looked back at me, "If you want."

"Sure, that sounds great."

Logan's phone vibrated for a moment, and then another. He picked it up and looked, "This is the place we're booking at, I'll be a minute." He answered, and I excused myself to go to the bathroom. I scrolled through my texts for a moment, a few from Scarlet with some memes, and then listened to a voicemail from my mom. I saw my phone ping with a long text from Damien, but then I heard a weird popping noise. It was loud, and in rapid succession. All of my hair stood up, I'd heard that noise before.

It was a gun.

Panic rose, and I tried to push it down with rationalization, thinking maybe something fell, but then I heard it again. I stumbled to call 911, but my phone fell out of my hand. I cringed at the clacking noise of it hitting the floor, looking around for something to grab. There was nothing. A silence fell over the room and I heard footsteps come down the hallway. I heard them stop, and a voice called out.

"Come out, now." It was Victoria's voice...

I slowly walked out, and I noticed the blood on her hands, and her face. Her eyes rolled and she grimaced, "It's you. Of course, it's you."

"Victoria, you're... making a mistake."

"Really? You think so?" She laughed, the joy in it terrified me. "You've always been the mistake. First you two got together, wow, what a surprise. Then he actually chased after you, said he loved you, you've just always been in my way." She held up her gun, and pointed it at me, "Now you'll finally be out of the picture, I'll make sure of it."

Then she pulled the trigger.

I looked down.

It felt hot, almost.
