I am perfect. Grade: A. This is not exaggeration. I am just being honest. I am the best at studies in my class, untouchable at any sports if I focus just a little. Respected among my peers and famous among girls, by the way I was asked out by a girl yesterday. I won't go out with her though. I already have a girlfriend. She's not that great, at most a C. Most of my classmates are D's. There are only 4 A's in my class, including me. I am tall, handsome, smart and I don't get fat no matter how much I eat. An ideal guy.

I am a sprinter and won my first gold medal when I was in class 9th in the 100m race. My current record is 10.89 seconds. Today we have the qualifiers for the state level. And I know that I will be placed first, no sweat.

My school is around 6km from where I live. I cycle this distance within 10 minutes. But today I will be faster, being late again for three consecutive days will be hellish. The crossing marks the halfway to school and there is more traffic than usual. Without traffic lights, instinct guides the way. After getting clear of the traffic, just when the road was clear I heard the roaring sound of an engine. As I turned my head, I saw a speeding car in the wrong lane. Before I could do anything, it occurred. You know that slow motion thing that accident victims experience just before an accident. It isn't how it's described. You won't feel it to be slow, you just remember everything in great details as if everything happened in slow motion. I only remember till the bonnet of the car touched my cycle. And then I was asleep.

I woke up by the beeping sound of the ECG. I was on ventilator. For a moment I thought that I was dead. But I got only a few bruises it seems. But my face seems intact so nothing to worry. I won't be running in the qualifiers but it's okay. There is next year. I just feel terrible periodic pain in my legs. It comes and.....

AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

What the fuck was that? The pain was like someone pierced both my legs with hot skewers at the same time. I called for the nurse and told her about the pain. She told me to wait while she calls the doctor.

"Can you straighten my knee, my leg must be bent for too long, it feels numb and I can't move it myself."
"But, kid, your legs are straight...."
