Solstice

Beep, beep! Beep, beep! BEEP!

Ughhh...it can't be morning again...

I peeked over at my alarm as it read 6:00 AM. Every morning I took a run around my complex until it's time for me to get ready for class. Today, I didn't feel like budging! Lucky for me that it's Friday.

Note to self: No more binge watching Netflix originals late at night!

Ugh! Alright, I'm up! I'm up! Barking came from my pup who's way bigger than a pup, but I still like to consider him one. My dog Poseidon is half-wolf/half-Australian Shepard. I named him that because of my love of the ocean and the depth of his eyes.

After brushing my teeth and putting on my gear, I put a leash on Poseidon. We both ran out of the door like it was no tomorrow. This is when woman and pup become in sync as we both love being active.

I was starting to dread going to class the faster I ran. After my internship, I had a music session in the studio, so that was my only highlight. Not paying attention, I bumped into something hard.

Ouch!

I looked up to see Poseidon letting some strange man pat him.

A sexy, ass man.

"I'm sorry, I get so caught up in my thoughts that I zone out."

It's almost like my pup and him tilted their heads at the same time. A second later, he walked up on me and smiled.

He has the prettiest brown skin and nice teeth. Fuck me...and I mean literally.

"It's alright. Your dog saw me before you did. Speaking of, this is a nice size dog for a little lady like yourself. What's his name?"

"What's that suppose to mean? There's nothing wrong with me wanting a big dog versus those ankle biters and his name is Poseidon."

The beautiful stranger rubbed his chin as he examined me. I attempted to put on a tough stance as my pup on the other hand became a big teddy bear.

"Are you into mythology or something? I'm still intrigued by his name."

"Well, if you must know, I'm obsessed with the ocean. Ever since I was a little girl, I found peace by the sound of waves crashing against each other. That special salty scent seeping into my nostrils."

I found myself getting lost in my thoughts. The smooth like butter voice of a man took me out of it.

"My name is Apollo, which is also a Greek God. If you know your mythology, Apollo was a man of many trades."
